  1. Yes they're both fit as fire Brimmer, looking forward to the coming season
  2. My lot are quite sociable, have had more than that together before without any problems a couple of shared litters from a few years ago
  3. No Im sorry, think they're all spoken for
  4. As always a great little show, and cracking weather too. Heres a few photos I took, couldn't stay till the end couple for bigbird beautiful scenery on the drive there too, stopped off for a picnic here
  5. Its been a couple of years since we've bred a litter, and our old hob is ageing fast, don't think he'll be around an awful lot longer and certainly not likely to be fertile next year, so the first litter to him from Sue, our best Jill & are very important to us - only two, but doing well at around 4 weeks old we had two more litters, a couple of weeks back, with a total of 5 kits altogether, both jills are rearing them together our ferreting partners of the future
  6. Did you get a new camera Kay? The high speed SD cards "write" faster to the card so you can take a quicker succession of pics without waiting for the usual lag for the information to be written to the card - works particularly well for raw pics which are larger and so normally take a bit longer. I am not sure of the benefits of using one with a compact camera but it should work in the same way.
  7. Went to Appleby yesterday and had a great day, weather wasn't half so bad as expected. Took so many photos they are still downloading onto my pc this morning - but heres a few I managed to sort through last night
  8. Got yourself a nice dog there barks, good luck with him
  9. Kay they are Damsel flies - lots of them around this time of year - very clear photos
  10. Kay a DSLR will open up a whole new meaning to your photography that a compact can't - though theres nothing wrong with compacts for snaps. I'm with Doxhope though - has to be a Nikon but theres nothing wrong with Sigma lenses if thats what you can afford to start with.. - I use one and am fairly pleased with the results, though if I could afford some better lenses then I'd buy the Nikon ones Plenty of people also swear by Canon's but I've seen one or two Canon photographers converting to Nikon recently
  11. Thats your opinion but your a show pony, £350 a pup, plummer keeper. So we will just ignore you. never in my life have i sold a pup for £350, in fact my last litter of plums didnt sell for a single penny and the one before that I didnt get £350 for the whole litter - am def a show pony though I do admit to going to three shows this year, and shown one plummer terrier in one and 2 plums in the other, out of the 5 that I own, mind you I've hunted a few times more than that too with all 5 of them
  12. I got a Nikon D90 for Christmas & am very pleased with it so far. I dont have any fancy lenses - have a 18-105mm VR lens that was bought with it but mostly use a Sigma 18-200mm f3.5-6.3 DC OS Lens.
  13. Thats the worst possible advice you could give. One day you'll end up with a dead dog. They need to be kept separate, cos if they hate each other its never going to change, and leaving them to sort it out themselves will only make things worse and won't have a happy ending
  14. looks like you had a good time zap
  15. judging was fantastic wasn't it woodga I think someone was giving him tips on the phone Was a good day, bumped into a few old faces, and some new
  16. Ive not been listening to anyone fireman, don't listen to gossip, just took notice of what you posted yourself and yes I do know about him. Theres coppers on all the forums, you'd be daft to think otherwise, and not all of them are bad, some of them even work their dogs. I'm glad to hear your dogs are doing it, the more plummers that are worked the better as far as i am concerned.
  17. I know of him, have seen him once felldog
  18. put up the pics of your plummers mate... i was a non believer for along time till i seen them, impressive! to keeps, what are those pics supposed to prove??? were you doin your part for game bird protection or are they hunting rats??? to oldskool pics arent supposed to prove anything at all, she is the aunt of the dog pictured in the first pic so she is related. All Im saying is that vandal is from working lines and the dog in the original pic in the the thread is descended from him, its well known amongst plummer people that these lines are the lines most likely to work - though nothin
  19. Think I might go to this one, going to take the dogs out in the morning and call in after that
  20. eventful wasnt a bad day at all actually apart from what I already mentioned. accident or not a dog of that strength should not have been left unattended on a thin rope lead, there was no need for it to be there at all. I wouldnt even leave my lurchers tied up unattended and go wandering off elsewhere, you never know what a dog will do at a dog show. Its just fortunate it wasnt one of the dogs that some kids had in the ring at the time that was attacked.
  21. Its true that any terrier/dog can catch rats, but not every terrier can find them and follow the tubes underground to dig them out. Plummers for me make the best rat dogs, due to their nose and agility.
