Have fed mine everything from mice to deer and day old chicks to pheasants, chuck it in and they will eat what bits they want and i remove what they don't eat.Mine are having rat today from my live catch traps, have fed them rats before and will carry on doing so but some will say it's a big no no.

I have John and what a do it can turn into,i just tend to take my terriers these days though do live hand catch sometimes(with gloves on though).Got to keep yourself on the ball, although the last one got me in the side of the thumb.Still the terrier pups had fun playing with it and it helped with thier education.

Had one help me to empty my live catch rat traps this morning,no messing, straight in there and a good crushing bite. -
Like everyone has said feed them after the heat of the day has gone,i keep mine in a court outside and just feed them like everyone has said and get no probs. You will never get rid of all the flies but simply taking away the left over meat in the morning will help loads.

Yep use tights but drop the whole net and rat into a sack, trying to extract them from the tights is hard work and letting them chew themselves out is easier.

Do not dig into a sand bank while on your own,i had it happen to me once when i knew no better.I just dug straight in and put my self in the hole,it collapsed and thank god i had someone with me.Use a few ferrets and i would use a long net around the place rather than walking over the holes to net it up,we have a lot of sand here in norfolk and it can be a real hazzard, still easier to dig than clay.

Not so much kayak fishing but canadian canoe fishing but have had some good results from them,a little landing net helps when unhooking the fish, holds them in place for you. They do let you get to places boats can't go,was fishing off the pembrook coast and we were getting some good results. You do want to take a good little range of end tackle with you as your'll come across all sorts of marks,we were allways thinking of making up a keep net of sorts as when out on sunny days the catch can suffer but never got round to it.Large fish can tow you along for a bit and thats a mad feeling being towe

Nice looking dogs there mate, know what you meen when they get going.Have seen one pull a man and it had him by the back of the neck, have also seen ours put my lurcher over with so much ease it was untrue and do agree if they make contact job done.Met a elderly couple walking some on a beach in West Wales and they told me there is a bit of research being done by the owners club on hyredidtree(can't spell that one) faults such as cancer and hip probs,it seems there are some ped dog owners who do care about their breeds future.A pic of ours a while back being a sun lounger for my plummer.

The bitch in the pic is about 21"ish the one i'm looking after is slightly taller 22,23",went for a walk down a beach with all the dogs today and she is very protective, she has to be between you and strange dogs. Both dogs have been out for a few mooches with the other dogs and arn't to shy of getting in cover with the terriers, they certainly don't seem to have a reverse gear but are controlable.Totaly echo what Dogmandango says about them and they really could be anything you wanted them to be,the sort of dog you could have round a farm that wiould kill vermin, round up livestock,go ferreting w -

What i do know is their both pure breds and about 18 months 2 years old mate, weren't kept in the best of conditions and ooty bought them more because he felt for them than because he wanted them. They have filled out well and have really come out themselves, they lived on chains so have had no training what so ever but are coming round,i have doves, game birds and a ferret court in my garden and have only had to tell them no (in a stern voice mind)when they took a interest.A real shame as you can see if had from a pup they would be such a obediant dog(but like i said their coming round),they have -
I have a irish wolfhound at home and yes far to big and heavy to work really, would love to see her on something big but she's the misses's pet.I'd recon if they made contact in the first strike then game over as i've been run into and was sat on my arse with ease,a lot i've seen seem to use there front legs to pin things down and would imagine they wouldn't last long in the real world hunting wolves. Will be flushing a hare for the gun with her this year (memo must buy gun)just to see how she does but am not holding my breath at any 3/3.Must of been something else to have hunted with them in

Ooty's on a over the border raid for some Welsh fish with his lad for the weekend, but i have the acd that has been put to the grey staying at mine and i recon she's getting fatter.Had this one staying for a bit as well and have to say there great little dogs, amazed at the jaw strenght in them and their certainly not stupid. Can see the potental in adding the blood to a running dog, good feet, good bone, really can't find a fault in them. He'll be back soon but i'd pm him mate,i may forget to tell him. -
Ahh stink pot ally lol,can picture where you were mate as i grew up near there.Don't remember sgt smith but do remember a lanky ginger c**t called sgt lounes proper git and jonny the jap copper who once drove into a unlit skip on the way up to harnam roundabout and did'nt we laugh lol.Grand little story and brought back some memories.

Two lads i know got a little pi**ed and one woke in the night and couldn't find the loo so peed in a kettle, the other lad woke in the morning with a dry mouth looked around saw a kettle felt there was some liquid in it and drank away.Know another lad who's vegan neighbours moaned to him about cooking bangers on a barbee,he had a whale meat and horse meat barbee the following week no more complants lol. -
Been training a bramble in my garden for the last couple of years as it's better along a fence than barbed wire and had a bumper crop this year, ours were ready weeks ago and most brambles round here have finished now.Did come across some ripe sloes/damsons?? the other day, don't know but seems early for them yet.A & b crumble is the way forward use 1/2 oats,1/2 flour cracking stuff.

If they are wild and don't like being touched at all try giving them some milk or something else they have to lap up and then when their lapping try stroking them to get them used to being touched, then after a while pick them up.Do this often then they will slowly get used to being handled,i would wait till their a bit tammer mate before working them but like others have said don't give up on them as the sport they can give a few sore knuckles is a cheep price to pay.I allways use the knuckle in the mouth and use the method on any kits that try their luck with my fingers and have had great res

I and a mate have had two sightings of what we think may have been larger than normal cats, one we saw when driving and saw a very large cat jump into the hedgerow in front of us and another near Snetterton race curcit one evening and we followed it for a few hundred yards before we lost it.We were both not sure whether we would belive each other in what we had seen but we both saw the same thing and are both convinced our eyes had not lied to our brains, the cats were not huge but easily the size of a good whippet.

Good to see some folks trying to help them rather than just slating them, slightly shot yourselves in the foot lads but most of us at some stage have messed up a little and if you learn from it and take care when out again then all good from a little mess up.Get yourselves some different size and sorts of nets and you will be able to net the different sorts of holes you will come across with the right one, live and learn lads.

You mean a rough coated lurcher!,tumbler is a nickname for a lurcher that would strike hard and maybe tumble over when catching not a type or breed of dog.

Good man Mr Rolfe, very good tips there.

Do you know anyone with any that you can show her?,the problem as with most kids(not saying your to young mate)is that after a while they get board of the new thing and the parents will end up looking after them.Show your mum that you can look after them without her help and that you know what your doing with them, things like a bin for the poo etc and that they don't stink or bite or can escape.Show her some maturity and patients mate, build yourself a hutch but tell her it's for the future when you are allowed one.Play the long grind em down game mate, tell her about the wonderful countryside a
