  1. Don't know what Horse &Country tv is but you may have as the chap who's it is does a few shows and sorts to show it working,he grows wheat straw for thaching so has to use a old thresher so not to ruin the stalks.Grand old do it is when it's running although the dust has to be seen to be belived, the rats were coming thick and fast and gutted the rest of the stacks that were ment to have been done have gone off and will be burnt instead of threshed, still maybe a chance for a rat or two when he fires them. The whole of his farm is run old school and is a wildlife haven, shame more arn't like i
  2. Have you tried maplins?,the big ones are the same as tv ariel contectors so would imagine the small one are the same as a cable fitting of sorts.
  3. 102 rats in 1 1/2 hours with 4 plummers,100's of mice at the same time whilst threshing a stack.Rain has stopped play on this farm this year though.
  4. If folks lie then i'd say that they need to get a life, had one of the best hunts i've had with my dogs the other day and didn't catch the big eared rabbit they were hunting in a old pea field.20+ minuets and i didn't help them once, self casted refound and away again,i would say that watching the dogs work is the thing for me not numbers caught. It's only illigal for the dogs to kill hedgehogs not you, still i ain't taking a spiney ball off my reved up dogs on a rainy night(pricked, bit and soaked, sounds like a nite at barrymores house and sod that).
  5. Drive, nose, temprament, coat, the same really as the traits that you would look for in any terrier. They are mostly a bidable, work with others sort of terrier. Some lines can be a bit firery, some will dig, some won't.Some i've seen trained to gun, know of a few working with keepers and they are more than happy with them.Mine will work with ferrets and nets, they have had a few digs(not just from the doubters, real digs lol),bush, rat, really anything that has been asked of them.
  6. I'm in as well with my 2 plummers,i'll put up my mooching tallies rather than say solely a rat hunt tally. This last few weeks had a few rabbits,a few rats and god knows how many hedgehogs.
  7. Well said mate,i wonder how many dogs would take on a rat the same size as them or hang on to a rear end that kicks like a mule?.I myself had my favourite ferret die last week and choked me up it did, have a daughter that is showing promise so his blood lives on.Hate the way the ferret is looked upon as a cheap life and their so easy to look after as well.I had some kits for sale this year and even in this day and age when i said they were flesh fed, some k**bhead who had phoned said"don't that just make them bite"i put him right and still didn't let him have one.
  8. Went out for a mooch in the evening(in laws around for kids birthday)and had a banging hunt on a big rabbit in a old pea field,i saw him move off and then the lurcher hit his line and then the terriers and they spent the next 20 mins running him, loosing him finding him then they lost him in a cornfield in the end.X box my arse mate been under the transit taking off the gearbox and anyway that wet would have ruined his pretty show coat.
  9. When they getting married?,bless em.lol.

  12. oh and my dog performs to long slip and i prefer it to chasing rabbits around lol no his sat here sopaked to his backside ,he hasnt got a computer of his own,we've been out collecting scrap today, his takeing his lad to scotland at the end of the month for a hunting trip and a meeting for plummer terrier owners and is planing a stop to lamp what he recons must be easy yorkshire rabbits .you could do worse with a pup out of them.i know his my mate but they are nice pups from good parants, espesaly his old collie.she is a jack of all trades,as you may have worked out running and breeding th
  13. think the long slips was advice to give hancocks a chance to catch somthing,he wants to know if his gota drop yopu one of these pups in or what?add some power and drive to your lines,
  14. Don't know about the fishing pole but did know a bloke that saw a ad for a R/R car for a fiver,he went and looked and it turned out a real R/R car (like the one pa larkin drove on the telly) in mint condition and the old bloke who owned it had died.He had been seeing another sort and in his will his wife had to sell the car and give the mistress the cash, so she did for £5 lol.The lad who bought drove it around for a day, sold it got on a plane never seen him again. Can't women be cruel eh?.lol.
  15. There 8 in the litter 7 biches one dog(brindle one)the other bitches not in the pics are marked the same as the black ones.No Smashy got 5 dogs at home as it is(6 looking after one of the cattledogs as well TEMPORARILY)and new baby and a house move soonish so won't have the time for it,i'll stick with my hancock just fed him and the winds howling should have got a head start on ooty .Which one you having mate?lol.

    Oh my god

Raising kids it's all about giving them enough rope, they will do the rest.Could have been like Scent says though, arn't modern times just great.
  19. Wan***s some people are letting dogs get like that, well done for getting him back and good luck with him.Tell us who it was who let him get like that, name and shame the tosser.Little and often is the best way to get him to feed again as his stomach will have shrunk and i hope he comes good again.ps should have kicked the shite out the lad though.
  20. Leave me and Trevor out of this lol, bloody good ferret that and anyway he'd feel out of place working with my plummer/hancock pack if he was any good.He ain't that bad Smashy just when fat blokes stomp around buries rabbits don't bolt, the grace of a building site cement mixer has Ooty.Saw his pups yesterday and must admit their fine looking things.
  21. morning.ooty here.what he failed to tell you was, that, his dog might hav krept down down the beam but was blinded by the lamp and didnt see the rabbit,it caught a sitter by mistake, by standing on it!!! no good putting a light on for those dogs.it blinds them, hence it had to feel its way down the lamp, cant wait to come catch some of those easy bunnies up north,
  22. Were back and it was a draw at just a rabbit each,it's all we saw really. His dog had to go running all round a field to get hers, mine crept down the beam (although he couldn't see it he dosen't just gallop down it just creeps on my hiss)stood on it (it was in a bit of cover)and picked it up(dim useless hancocks eh!)out for the crack and had a bit of sport, thats what it's all about.Tis a nice looking dog you have there Smashy.
  23. you could probly buy that off him,
