  1. It's all gristle and not a lot else, once you've burnt the spines off it looks like a hunch backed rat and you split them on top rather than under neath like you'd kipper a rabbit sort of thing.Proper on the breadline food in the old days i'd say as it does also taste like a hunch backed rat.
  2. Gristley poor pork, thats what they taste like and won't try it again.
  3. Caterpillers dog and on the last pic the dog has seen someone on the horizon and you can see how the dog has tucked himself in to the lad, that is the cattle dog trait we've been talking about. As for learning here's the same dog as a pup not 3 mins after meeting a ferret for the very first time
  4. "Hello,my name is blah and i have a heroin addiction" oops sorry wrong meeting .
  5. Well done on a good job that got good results, see you next winter then .
  6. And the best feet you will ever see on any dog anywhere,i did have one for a bit(she was pts after a horendus leg break)and she was turning into the best dog i've ever had.She was only 10-11 months old when i lost her but she was well getting the ferreting game sussed, she'd retrieved big rabbits and hoofed game(shot first of course) and i she'd have died for me protection wise,if i was ever out with her and she saw someone before me she'd sit on my feet and give a little growll and this trait her litter brother also has. These dogs are not overly agressive but they take no stick from nothing(ve
  7. Had my fist chick (greenie mule, all the other chicks are my stepsons) fledge properly yesterday,it came out a few days ago but went back in and stayed in.The hen has built again and to be honest this pair are just a spare red factor hen with a lutino greenie i bred last year and i'm just getting him to know his job as it were.Fingers crossed for you gnipper and let us know.
  8. Thought the same Francolin about the eggs i've had in nests outside,i didn't think any would hatch due to the frosts and we even had a frost this morning and i have to say i went straight out and checked on the redpoll fledglings i got but needn't have worried they were fine. The redpoll hen has 4 more eggs shes gone down on so these little birds seem to be doing alright even if it is a tad cold still at night.
  9. You can book a cabin or static at the show i think Moll and it's got all mod cons, camping aloud as well pre booked i think.Cafe and bar on site and the raffle ain't to bad either . Whisperingeye you coming then? Wish i could, would love a little holiday, but unless they allow 50ish hens, canaries, and several dogs in one of their cabins there is no way i can spend nights away from home Thankfully it does not start too early so may make it there and back in one day Should be able to do the journey in about 4-5 hours Moll, the birds won't starve for one night away and bring the dogs
  10. WR i've had 20 odd eggs that have just gone in the bin so far this year,it is a little early still and this good weather we had had started thing s off a bit soon but now were getting towards the proper time for them to go down there'll be better results for us all mate.
  11. Just saying but the terrier ones for the ortovox transmitter are ok but could do with more bite protection for the box,not sure how and if thicker webbing would help but like i say just giving feed back and maybe something to think about ss?.
  12. Have you tried milking the bitch and then feeding the pups?,i have done this before and it worked but there was only one pup.
  13. Well done on the rebuild and it looks good, also good luck on the breeding and when they've finished with the nesting this year, paint that wire again
  14. I saw a red factor hen flirting with my greenie cock wanting to be trod today,i saw her getting trod by the goldie the other day so a mixed nest maybe with that one the little tart .Anyone seen this happen before,a mixed nest?.

  17. I'm affraid i wanted you to loose being a QPR fan but we won anyway so that keep us breathing air for a bit longer, not sure how long mind! .
  18. Better explane, had a irish hen build a nest and start to lay,she had laid a few eggs then went fluffed,i checked her to see if she was egg bound but she felt normal, the next day legs up on the floor. She had 5 eggs in the nest and she hadn't gone down hard on them and my question is how long will they keep before being useless as chooks and some other fowl eggs keep for a while and they are still good to go,get what i mean folks? .
  19. Thought they were a bit crap myself and as for the fella's digging and quarry handling skills .

  23. All the very best to the new family mate, hope mum and baby are doing well and a big congrats to you all
  24. A small electric fence would keep the cats or kittens off the roof, seen a few bird aviaries with them on and very, very effective.A couple of 3 strands up to about a foot high would soon stop them causing hassle and no hassle from the nieghbours about how the cats keep going missing .
