  1. Couple of young un's with the blood in them.
  2. I take it it's a siskin cock mate and if so leave him in there and he might just help with the rearing of the chicks, just keep an eye on him while there are eggs in the nest and if he's messing with them take him out.A few goldie cocks will mess with eggs and with their sharp beaks can put a tiny hole in them, not sure what siskins are like but i'm sure someone will say.If she's happy with the nest a day or two and she should be ready to lay in it,if shes not happy with it she might just leave it or destroy it herself.
  3. Read an artical about a old woman who kept budgies like that, had a big aviary with pop holes and they came and went as they pleased. She has kept them like it for years and they do breed and show the youngsters how to come and go,the artical was in a cage bird and aviary mag but haven't got a clue which one. Should add this was in the uk somewhere.
  4. Cracking old do Moll, off out in pursuit of ratty myself this week.
  5. Thats a fair price to pay for a cock goldie mule mate and your'll find some grand help at the cbs meeting,my local ones are so so funny with old norfolk boys going off on tangents all the time but what them fella's know you couldn't fit it the cover of a book it's so vast.
  6. Thats a pretty little bird mate ,has it been colour fed as it has a nice colouring on it's chest?.Get him out in the garden when it's a nice day singing and your'll see the wild goldies come in to see who it is making the song.
  7. As i said in my post last year it wasn't really planned i just had a light on in the shed for a extra few hours a day so i could check them first thing before work then in the evening again as i was out to work in the dark and home in the dark and they just came into condition themselves(wouldn't have seen them at all without the extra light) and they were goldie mules Gnipper.I have paired them up and placed nesting pans, etc because the canaries were carrying nesting stuff about in the aviary and the native cock birds are both singing and displaying and saying that the canary that's in with m
  8. Budharley my eggs this time last year were eggs containing mules not eggs out of mules and out of those eggs 1/3 were fertile.
  9. My canaries have got nest pans and just as important nesting material to use, they are also getting a bit extra light to help them along as they are in a outside shed now i have paired them up with a native cock each to get a round of mules out of them. This time last year i had mules eggs in the nest but this year i have just started them later,i have a low energy bulb in the shed and i just have it on a hour or so longer than sunset as such,as for ballsing it up mate we all do that and it's part of the learning curve so they say .Good luck and keep us updated and if you feel it's to dark for

  12. Chris is spazzy paddys dog a litter sibling to Bramble?(being double Ted bred).
  13. Cage bird and aviary mag or birdtrader might be your best bet.
  14. Not having a pop but you might not get many offers seeing as your dogs aren't broken to ferrets,i wouldn't use mine mate.
  15. Beware mate,it's creeping bigger and when summer comes and you think that bit of garden thats not really being used would make a nice little aviary for the birds to be flying around in and singing for the world to hear,it's to late it's got you so just go with it  and good luck with the breeding.
  16. Sorted my muling pairs out yesterday and got last years mules out the way of the breeding natives, redpolls are feeding each other, canaries carrying nesting stuff, cock natives bouncing and singing their hearts out, recon it's going to get busy soon. .
  17. Ment to be a lot easier to clean than wood, you can get metal ones as well.Look on the links to the bird forums and someone there will point you in the right direction.
  18. Think Stormer has been dead many a year now but CH's line does have his blood in it,so maybe further back than that in your pup if it's from CH's line?..
  19. Has anyone answered why it seems some myself inclueded can't see the other terrier bit?.
  20. Would you swap with "Of dogs and deer" book unread and still in couriers packaging and a goldfinch mule cock singing goldfinch song?, got laid off work last week so skint and just trying a barter mate .
  21. She died during a rendition of her greatest hit.
  22. I've a 6x4 shed built into my aviary but to be honest it's a bit of a waste of a shed just for the birds to roost in,i wish i had built off it and maybe wired it in half so i could use one half and the birds have the other half and use pop holes to get in or out.A 6x4 shed with a aviary built off it can hold a few pairs of different sorts i'd say with not to much bother and you'd still have a bit of space in there for the youngsters.
  23. Double breeders and flights for the youngsters, then extra flights or cages for if some don't get on.It's a hobby that grows and takes over space very quickly as my misses will tell you . It depends on what you want really atubby,a large(i don't do small cages personaly) cage will keep a couple of mules in ok but canaries, finches etc will want more space as soon there'll all be breeding or wanting to and some pairs can produce over a dozen youngsters a year hence the more space bit, have you any idea on what you want and there's plenty of experiance on here to help you. .
  24. Fair play lads and glad it was took the way it was ment Fair comment fireman didnt take the bitch out to dig her but things happen it will not be happening again if i go for a walk in the park the motor will be loaded up Your right things do happen and fair play for having something in the motor to have a go with and glad it wasn't taken as a pop at you ,
  25. Putting a dog to ground with just that toy spade to work with?,don't care how it sounds you let that bitch down doing that and good job your mates helped bail her out.I ain't no real deal terrier man,i try to do a bit but i still wouldn't do that to any terrier
