  1. Lutino greenie cock, red factor canary hen mate. Your doing well Francolin, very grand indeed mate .
  2. Every one i know has had a mare of a year with clear eggs, hens jumping nests or eggs and nests being ripped.Myself i've only had a greenie mule to sticks this year, everything else has ended up tits up in the end.My step sons birds are doing ok'ish but should be better than it so your doing ok really .
  3. Cracking well done clipper, best of luck with the other eggs mate.
  4. Got a step forward today(not counting my chickens as they say )i noticed my greenie hen off the nest a few times so one time i nipped in and saw at least 2 chicks, one dark and one light so a normal and lutino it seems and also saw my chaffie hen trying out a few different nest pans for size and a couple of irish chicks from a pair i have in my shed.Wonder if my luck has changed? .
  5. Like i say caught all sorts with that method and if i had just a quick few hours to fish in thats the way i'd fish sort of thing, every rock outside your cast zone is a new mark,Just carry some spare leads and extra traces then be mobile until you find a hot spot. One thing that is well handy is keep the frozen eels in a old flask and there'll keep fresh all day and use bait elastic to tie on the eel, your'll have a mare and a new eel every cast without it.
  6. Malt might be teaching you to suck eggs here but the best method i found when fishing for pollock in Pembrokeshire was fix a link swivel to the end of your line then make up a trace abot 18" long with a long shanked hook on it.i use to use thin wired hooks so they would bend out if i got snagged up,i then would bind a frozen sand eel on to the hook, put a 2 ounce bomb weight on the swivel then cast it over the tops of the kelp.Caught pollock up to 5-6 lb and countless of other sorts of fish as well, you can feel the kelp as you wind back in and it's just above it that i found to be the most suc
  7. Well i spent one night out with whin and saw enough to make it never happen again so it sure ain't "he knows his job" and the minshaw topic is about? hey guess what fecking Minshaws ,lamping dogs allways have been lads so what the feck has d slieght or trials in scotland got to do with it?.Just more crap from the man imo and many others think the same,so are we really all that wrong? .
  8. Just thought i'd start a thread for his utter b*ll*cks,he's been ruining a good thread with his d slieght, beardie x,fishing dog crap and even after a pm from myself asking which bit of f off and shut the f up didn't he understand. So whin black ditch water or what ever your calling yourself here's a nice new thread for you to go on with and tell your tales of great feats, but please leave the minshaw thread alone .
  9. Well done mate,i only got one chick left but it's doing ok and i'll try to get some pics up later of it.It sounds like your doing something right and the very best of luck with the rest of them,The irish hen i got that keeps leaving the chicks i saw get trod by 3 different cocks yesterday, they all sat in a row and took turns on her, first a goldie cock, then a siskin cock, then the lesser redpoll cock had sloppy 3rd's so who knows what eggs she'll lay but seeing as i got a red factor hen nest building as well i'll rob the irish's eggs and put them under the red factor hen. Will just add the 3 cock
  10. I'd like to see whin as backfill .
  11. Tried that Gnipper and she just sat them, didn't feed them just sat them.I had one of the chicks die yesterday but the other 2 are hanging in there but one is having to be a tad forced fed but all i can do is my best for them and the rest is up to the gods.
  12. Good news and lets hope the thieves are sleeping on the river bed tonight with a paving slab for a pillow.
  13. Very true mate and at times you wonder why,or i do anyway .The 3 chicks made it through the night so good there and i have had 2 quail chicks hatch but 2 dead ones and the hen has left the nest so that looks it for them, allways a step back after the one forward but hey ho upwards and onwards and got a wedding to go to today so it'll be funny to see folks faces if i have to feed these chicks through the service as there in a cage nest box around my neck and under my jumper for the day.
  14. Been away for week family hols in France and not the best time for a bird keeper to go away but couldn't worm out of it,went away with a redpoll on 5 eggs and a couple of canary hens on mule eggs.Came back to no redpoll nest, all smashed and pulled to bits ,but a nice goldie nest with 5 eggs and a lutino nest with 4 eggs and both hens sitting tight .Now the back step again, one canary jumped her nest and now i'm mum to 3 mule chicks and the other canary is sat on duff eggs.Birds eh don't they test you?.
  15. I'd just give him time mate,i have a goldie cock that don't sing to grand either at any time of year and it does sound like he needs a bit of peace and quiet for a bit.
  16. They'll be the cornish fat mans alter ego's watching Tomo.
  17. The first pic could be a Austin K9 4x4,going by the grilled bonnet, but saying that it has no gun turret so could be a Austin Loadstar 4x2 and the other pic is a Thames Trader,i owned and restored a Loadstar years ago,4 liter straight 6 petrol engine, crash gear box and proper crappy brakes and at 10 to the gallon it drank more money than i had. That Thames with the winch could also be a 4x4 version.
  18. Well done and a grand old do mate ,best of luck with the others and that shed will soon be full
  19. I got 2 pairs of chinese quail in my bird aviaries and both hens are sitting hard on eggs, dead easy to settle down and keep and with a little time there'll feed out your hands.
  20. I think showing a pic is just the same as showing a pic of anything, like a show winning mule or a nice looking old trap it's just a pic of something some of us are into. The thing is Andy and his lads don't breed for cash, they have no one to prove anything to and there happy with what dogs they have, can't see why all this bollocks is going on myself as no matter who you are if you do well in something your'll allways get the crabbers(not aimed at anyone ) but these lads have just set THEMSELVES a standard they want THERE OWN dogs to work at and that seems to be some folks problem.I'm a hobby h
  21. Cage bird and aviary paper(get it at most newsagents)have a list of dates of club meets and such like.
  22. A qualifier is a step to the bigger shows like the midland, saves having 300 dogs in a ring
  23. There don't have to be any feathers,it's for the protection of game birds and not killing off the pest after he'd allready done the deed. Not really protecting them after it's killed them is it?,so without sounding funny lads the law hasn't changed anything other than dispatch for terrier work.
  24. Saw my lads redpoll cock tread his irish hen today and the redpoll is well paired up and his hen has just started sitting on her 3rd nest of the year,he's also still topping up the last chicks and the last nest the irish had was 3 goldie mules so they pick and choose by the looks of things.
  25. You aint gona get very far with a bar against 3 lads , at the luckiest you take one of them out by the time you you hit 1 the other 2 are kicking your head in get yourself on ebay & get a stungun fkers wont come next to you Smash the windscreen then set about the driver,9 times out of 10 it'll be there own motor and there'll try to drive away and with luck there'll leave one of there mates behind for you.Seen it happen more than once and every time it went the same way, smashed motor and fella left behind.
