    i use hay as bedding and have no problems with it , but i was given a black bag full of straw and when cleaning them out to day my ferrets were covered in ticks not just one or two but bloodly loads of them . i can only think they have come from the straw and i believe it had been sitting around for a while . i have three cages of ferrets and the only ones that didnt have ticks are the one that i did not use the straw in

    carcase is best but if you really have to cat food is better then giving dog food [tinned] but there are plenty of dried ferret food out there now so no need to these days hope this helps

    i think i would only put it on my finger if i trusted the ferret in the first place, and its just like giveing a dog a treat and thats all it is a treat

    got a call last night asking when i was starting ferreting this year from my old pigeon partner terry, so i said if his up for it, what about tomorrow so at eight this morning i picked him up and took the short drive to the stables . we only done the easy hedge row as terry had to have his leg off about 18 months ago and cant do the hills with out rolling back down it was like a summers day and far to hot for ferreting really and the rabbits were slow to bolt but when they did the dog was quick to halt there bid for freedom catching most even before they hit the long nets we got seven from

    that's cheered me up reminds me of a day out a couple of seasons ago when i got over a fence and said it was off and then steve who i go ferreting with tryed getting over and got a blast in the balls made me laugh he didnt find it so funny

    dont know how to down load from u tube but just watched it and it will open up a whole can of worms what a lurcher is, a good watch and a blast from the past . can some one whos clever then i am try and down load it please

    Id go with Millet on this one.. Seen it a few times myself.... :yes: If you look at the ears there clean cuts and neat id say combine the pic i put up i was ferreting in a big park and theres no fields around for miles that would have been combined

    i would say a hare is more likely to lose its ears to a combine as it will be lower to the ground if in a seat, a rabbit i would think would be munched

    after reading the for sale section and seeing how many are buying dogs/older puppies that are not what they thought they are please do your homework first and make sure they are the real deal . if people are buying a adult dog that's been sold as working ask for a trial or at least a walk out with the person and see how the dog is with the person if it says stock broken go and find a field with sheep in and see how the dog reacts . if the person makes up excuses be very wary of what you are buying and put some of the blame on ones self for rushing in and thinking you can buy a ready made 1st c

    no word of lesbos but does say traumatised ferrets, three friends based in the suburbs of bristol , rings bells of ferrets in rat cages in a room in a flat could be completely wrong so will just have to wait and watch it

    i use one when knitting a long net as you can get a fair amount of twine on them but go back to the other type when doing purse nets

    slow and easy would be my way and plenty of praise when showing no fear . you don't no what the dogs gone threw in the past, and have some treats that she likes so when meeting people they can try and give her one so it becomes a good thing when meeting new people, but nice and slow hope all goes well and keep us posted
