    The hunting fraternity would have thrown dog men under the bus that’s a fact as I saw it myself . They would happily have seen lurcher and terrierwork banned if it meant hunting were to continue as before . If what you are saying is right it’s something I’ve not come across yet .

    I think they will mate .We are already seeing restrictions as to what bullets we can use .They are wanting a blanket ban on lead and of course tge alternative costs a fortune .Some will give up based on that I know they will . At the moment 20 x.243 bullets are £30 .The copper heads are £78 a box for 20 .Shotgun carts even more expensive in lead alternative . £180 for 250 lead carts and £370 for bismuth .     I’ve lost stuff mate but I’ve also had to shoot fallow deer that have been pulled by shite lurchers and left to die .Shooting is as humane as it gets done by the right people as is lurcher work ,done by the right people .We arnt so different mate and I’m not defending shooting any more than dog work .I enjoy it all .Trouble us over here mate ,there are the factions that give the dog game and shooting a bad rep but nobody seems to out bad practice .Each and everyone of those on this thread will have witnessed something they knew to be wrong but I’ll bet not many spoke out at the time .Most sho

    Forcing anything on kids tend to back fire .My lad was out with me at 7 years or so ,shot his first deer at 10 ,allegedly . He then had a lay off for few years while he sorted out his love life at work .He’s now with a country girl who fits in very well with our family and he’s back at it making me a very proud dad . Hes now got all my rifles and shotguns on his ticket plus a couple of his own .Hunting is hunting and I see no divide in whether it’s dogs ,ferrets ,hawks ,rods or guns .His girlfriend is a hunter as well ,rides to hounds .     Generally speaking the kill all treatments don’t work with mange .Might clear it temporary but it will be back .Needs a stronger dedicated drug to kill it ,prevent re infestation .Vets normally swab ,scrape the skin at 2 week intervals until no more mites are detected .Had it years ago and it’s a bitch to get rid of .Had to burn the kennels and start anew after relocating to a stable which came with its own problems .Was from a fox we dug .Don’t see it in foxes any more ,probably because they are kept to a minimum locally .

    If you asked my wife she would say the hunting comes first but it dosnt .If I had to stay in to look after her ,there’s plenty of people I can rely on to come round while I’m out .Now there’s caring for ya . Got to be honest I schedule my life and family around hunting .I’ve been lucky enough not to want for much through hard graft when I was younger and now it’s me time ,almost daily .
