    I get an annual invite to a cull day on a local estate that I look forward to every year . Im on my quad checking all the small woods and outlying patches for fallow groups .I shoot whatever I want including muntjac and roe if I see fit . Im not bothered about roe as I have them myself on perm but fallow are a rarity for me . First up was a pricket from a group of mature bucks .I shot it in a patch of fenced off rushes and there was no way I was going to lift it over so I dragged it under with the front winch . To be continued ??

    I’ve recently had a contact for a chap who collects deer .The only request was that we got 10 or more to make the trip from South Dorset worth while .Monday afternoon I got home from work early and straight out to a spot I know there’s a few roe ,in fact it’s teeming with them .This was culling pure and simple ,no time to mess about with management or fancy shots . In the second field there where 7 roe couched against the far hedge in the sunshine .The temp was just nice with a hint of a frosty night ahead .4 does and two mature bucks heavy in velvet and a pricket .Most had their eyes firml

    Out of the lads I’ve met off here Id say 75% are clueless ,useless ,wannabe using types that I dumped after the first meet .6 have been ok with 3 along the same lines as myself . Anyone still mad for it after a week solid stalking lamping and keeping up with the pace I walk is ok in my book . Seriously Ben get yourself down for a weekend .I’ve a high chair ,I mean high seat just handy for spying on next doors sheep.Who knows, you may strike up a meaningful relationship with one of them ??

    At this moment in time I don’t know a single young person who’s as mad for it as I was back then mate .Times are changing for sure and not for the best .The woke society who’s offended by our very existence seems to be revered far more than those who actually built the country .
