  1. If stalking is to be broken down yet again into a class issue then long may it be so . The whole thing is about the right of the commen man to take game off private land and nothing to do with deer management .Right to roam if you like ,armed .The prices charged are there for a reason .Anything worth having is worth paying for ,simple .Likening it to America it stupid as their whole culture in places is based on hunting and the rights of a man to bear arms whereas we have to earn the right own a gun and rightly so .Leave stalking as it is in Scotland ,a trip of a lifetime for many and a w

  12. The debate on rimfire for fox will go on but in my opinion it is not satisfactory and there is not a rifle that will do both rabbit and fox .If you can Prove that you have a legitimate reason for fox control as well as rabbit ie letter from farmer and the land is passed ,then take it further to aquire the right fiream for the job .I had a hornet for years but soon realised its shortfalls and stepped up to a .222 which will has everything you want in a fox round .Its a learning curve but with these forums now ,the newby can with a bit of thought ,bypass a few years of wounding and reget .ATB fo

  14. 'Keeper friend of mine invited me to join him for one last stalk of the buck season and as usual my lucky streak held .He said he had seen two bucks battling in the rut and that they appeared to be locked at one time but as he drove closer they parted with the younger buck running off leaving the older fella exhausted and defeated .The loser walked into a ditch and was found dead on their first partridge drive last Thursday .He had died of mulitple puncture wounds to the abdomen it appeared .[no pics im afraid as it was burnt as soon as he found it ,very clean chap ]Thursday evening saw us doi

  20. All i do is take .Take the deer that are causing the damage in the first place that is Oh and plenty of fox control to minimse predation on roe and muntie fawns.Habitat impovement has to be undertaken on a long term basis as im sure the majority of us will know and quick fix options are only short term .The biggest thing we are up against in our area is farm cropping which dictates where deer will be in any one season .Plenty of deer are nice to see but will soon get you in trouble with the landowner and may cut short any agreement so a balance has to be made .Cull the surplus hard and n
