  4. Unless it is in hard coat ,finished the moulting process then you are wasting your time mate .Pull at a few hairs that wont be seen and if they come out in clumps then foret it . Edited to say that if everything is fine with the skin then a cheap tanning solution is as follows [for use after the scraping process ].- 2 pints of water 20 eggs 1 box of saltpetre from chemists This is for one fox pelt -Seperate the egg whites from the yolk and disgard the yolks. Whisk the lot together in a bucket and soak skin .Obviously increasing quantities for bigger skins .Soak for 3 days indoors [gar

  13. Advice .Dont head shoot and take birds away from the main raft .Geese will take a lot of shooting at until one of their number spots you or flaps into the main raft .Get the use of a strong swimming dog BEFORE you start shooting .

  15. Very brave statement in the first place mate .Deer counting ,accurate deer counting takes years of being on the same ground.A count on any one day is just that ,a one day count. If your there to reduce the numbers then take a good percentage of does this season .If they are passing through then dont hammer them as they will pass through quicker .
  16. Right so youve heard the doubters ,the wankers that wouldnt know a good dog from a bad dog and those that genuinely know the man .Heres the truth from someone who has kept a line of his for 25 years and still uses genuine workers of his over bitches today .Brians early stuff was big with badger digging being the main reason for breeding all those years ago .They were strong ,bull headed animals but the bull was long diluted even 30 years ago .The increase in fox work dictated a smaller terrier and Brian is nothing if not a follower of fashion .The stuff he breeds today or rather the stuff he u

  18. The description of mink being 'transitory 'is right but if a food sourse is found ,then its made use of regularly .Otters ,im told move on regardless of abundant food and visit places in rotation in keeping with territory marking .Mink are quite locally based compared to otters i think and visit more often .
  19. On the local estate they do the annual deer count by luring them into using a molasses lick ,well several actually which the deer take to very readily .The count is taken early morning over the space of a week .
