Fog can be a great help or hindrance ive found .deer get very bold but by the same token you are usually on them before you know it . I once called a fox in very thick fog by lying down and shooting underneath it .Well done on your pricket mate .

My daughters boyfriend has a male harris that has developed the habit of making that rasping noise at his mum whenever she goes out in the garden .He has just started to cut the weight down and has flown him free twice now .Hes well maned ,well behaved around dogs and ferrets and other people.Whether he sees her as the only source of food when hes left days is the probable answer but its creating a problem with her and hes forced to take the weight up again to keep the peace .Hes aviary kept, flying free with an indoor section .Hes not an imprint so is there any way to keep him quiet so he can

Big Mistake But A One Off On The Grass.

Stalking first light today with Matt .I chose to put him in a seat with the chance of a muntie but unfortunately for him none showed .I on the other hand shot a buck in a corn field as the first proper rays came through and i was able to identify what i was looking at through the bins in the half light .Moved from him to do a circuit to where Matt was but didnt get that far .Stalking along a hedgerow and glassing well out in front i spotted the tell tale flick of ears and antler sat out in the yet uncut corn.Roughly 200 yds so a steady walk in to get a better look .About 90 yds ,the deer had -
The only person with any understanding of what makes a lines good or bad .nice post mate was going to but you saved me the trouble . The dog is the most important ingredient in creating a line and not just a one off but that said GOOD bitches need to be covered by it.

Called a buck a week ago that caught me unawares coming from where I didn't expect it .He clocked me ,a 4 pointer .alled the very same buck again Saturday eve but I was ready and took him .A very late rut by our standards .

Out with matt earlier in the week and managed to spot this beauty with a doe .Matt spotted him as we stalked by a gap in a hedge. He was chasing hard and ran through a hedge before we could do anything about it .Matt calmly gave him a peep and he obliged by returning alone .I was on bipod in the gap and chested him at 148m according to matts ranger .Not the only big lad here I hasten to add .Been seeing quite a few this year .

If its not a fenced area you will never eradicate anyway so just shoot on sight and in season .I would say that you will never concentrate roe in an area whatever time of year as they are not herd animals and far too territorial. Spread your baiting points about mate and visit them as and when signs of use are evident and wait up in a high seat if possible. As long as the landowner sees a reduction he will be happy mate as its cheaper than fencing .Good luck and straight shooting

Purely by invite mate

This is a shortened version because my lap top has closed the script pad twice and im now pissed off . Down at matts yesterday evening stalking this beautiful valley . From here we could see a buck and doe sat roughly middle of the far grass bank and to the right a bit . After an age of watching the pair the doe got up for a stretch, but not so the buck .It was only when a doe appeared to our left barking that he decided to get up for a better look.[Pic of doe now fails to load ,fecking thing ] and I shot him through the upper chest at a respectable range that Matt will confirm hopefull

You shot that buck yet messer

Used to be at all the time but dont own ferrets anymore .Miss it really but you cant do it all and do it properly .Ferrets can and do get injured according to the temperament of the individual .Its easy to lump all ferrets in the same can but far from it .Some ferrets like to mix it as well as some terriers but some will turn their backs the same as straight baying terriers .Bites sometimes result in an abcess if not cleaned well which means a trip to the vet .Good ratting ferrets are generally those that wont fight a rat and come out to re~enter elsewhere.Never lost a ferret in active duty
-
According to my vet ,it is possible .I reared a mink years ago from a kit saved from the mink hounds when they dug a bitch with a litter.Jill ferret reared it after a bit of trickery on my part .The mink lived with the ferrets in a big aviery for 3 seasons before someone cut the wire but even though she came into oestrus at the same time as the jills ,she was never covered to my knowledge. She was tame but 10 times faster than a ferret.Ran up your cloths easily to sit on your shoulder .Guarded food very noisely to. Cant see any sane person advertising the mating to be honest .

Not ready to hang up the bins yet mate

Fell Terrier X Bull

Another list of to the point answers. No~one can accuse you lads of beating about the bush . -
Personally i would question this story for the simple reason that roe ,even when birthing twins will birth them apart from each other and ive never ever found more than one newborn in a squat .Its a survival thing so that if one is found the other may survive .When they are up and following they may sit together but bit early for that yet.Sorry mate but i dont believe it.Ive seen triplets a few times and its not that commen in my experience and can only be proved when the young are well up and following ..

Been a while coming after a few blanks but well worth the wait .Getting pestered now as to when we are out next .Thanks for all the comments chaps
