  1. I got a guide 518 b for sale, its the one Steve mentioned on nightvisionforumuk.com it is mint condition with test certificate and all the accessories it came with. £3200 atb Bob
  2. Thanks. I was half expecting that....z take it you use an Archer? pvs 14 and longbow.pvs is the better picture but risk breaking it on the 22/250 so got longbow for it.
  3. I put my friends on my 22/250 and it held zero. the only thing I would say is the pictures you see on youtube etc aren't what you see in the scope, the view through the scope is not as clear and eye relief takes getting used to. I use gen 3 night vision and personally I would save up and get something decent.if you got a low budget then for 400 smackers it will do the job though.
  4. hi guys, anyone got and using one of the nightmaster covert lights, if so what do you think about it. I got 800 and 400 ir's and they are great with the pvs 14 and longbow.
  5. I personally wouldn't go on any land without written permission to shoot it, there has been a case lately of armed trespass as the person shooting on the said land thought he had verbal permission from the owner but it turned out to be just a farm worker. the land owner got rather upset ! get it in writing first.
  6. meopta artemis 2000 3-12x50 scope with 4b reticule. this scope is 30mm tube and is very good condition as was fitted to a .243 but only used out in the field the once. no box with it i'm afraid.. £400 including postage.
  7. I tried phoning these guys about a top end nv scope but they never answer or return the calls, strange considering I want to spend 3 grand. good luck!
  8. if your shooting them this time of year then decoys around a few dead rabbits works for us but the larger bags we shoot are late spring and summer months. laid barley is probably the best crop to shoot them on when it is milky in my opinion. good luck
  9. I with most of the others on this subject, if its written on your ticket to use on foxes then shoot the buggers with it. just be sensible and don't try long testing shots with it, they do kill 100yds plus but only if you shoot in the right place etc. if your not confident then don't pull the trigger! happy hunting
  10. was out foxing last night and after an hour or so shot a vixen with my tikka 22/250. I know for the last few weeks now that the foxes are calling here and there so I tried this last night and had good results. after picking the vixen up I squeezed all the urine out of her and placed the digital caller where I picked her up and played the vixen calling bark randomly. settled back about 180yds at a 90 degree angle to the breeze and waited to see if any dogs appeared. within an hour a dog fox appeared and homed straight in to the area and then was shot, I retrieved the body and then went back to
  11. any dead fish works well for me, most of the foxes I humane trap as well love a bit of fish..
  12. there were some on amazon a while back, phillipene made as well
  13. I use 22 Winchester subs and 17gr vmax in the 17. I've used Winchester, remington and hornady in 17gr and there little if any difference.. get to know your rifle, scope and your own capabilities then once you sussed your hold over it just comes naturally, just keep your mag set to your preference and stick with it. as for using hv 22 rounds , yes they kill but I personally don't use them purely due to the noise issue. when we clear rabbits we use 22 subs first and then to get the last shy ones at a longer range we use 17hmr, even when using subs and state of the art nv after hearing their mates
  14. I got wtc's on both my 22 and 17 and they are spot on for what I use them for, I leave both of them set on 6 mag and I only have to see a rabbit in the lamp or nv and instantly know hold over or not. I zero the 22 at 65 yds and on 6 mag at 100 yds the top of the bottom thick post is spot on. my 17 is zeroed at 100 yds and at 6 mag top of bottom post in the reticule is 175 yds . hope this helps you..
  15. Winchester subs for me using a Anschutz 1417, my rifle likes them and the rabbits don't. every rifle is different so just try a few of each and make your own mind up!
