  3. Looks strong type mate ,good luck with pup this winter.
  4. You never clip both wings mate .The idea is to unbalance flight which ,by clipping both you only hinder flight not stop it .The birds first moult at about 20 weeks or there about will grow new flights .
  5. Or a spell at her majesties pleasure over here .
  6. I'd gladly go back to the rabbit days mate .Total eradication here in most places .
  7. Is that red just in summer moult if so mate a seasonal booboo.lol.
  8. Was the fox introduced to help with the rabbit plague or for sport ? Fox numbers down here in Wilts have been affected by the lack of rabbits for sure .Its now a talked about event to see a rabbit and all down to RHD .Mixy was nothing compared to this devastation .Still plenty of fox about but nothing like pre RHD days .
  9. Look more at ease than any tame fox I've ever seen .
  10. Next time mate .Fallow nearly all clean here ,you still seeing antler .
  11. For the benefit of those who only read half that thread what's the gist of the crime here ,just so no lies are spouted lol.
  12. I would say you are wrong Mort .I know maybe 30 lads off here personally and what they write on here has no bearing to how they act .The internet ,whatever social site your on will bring out every emotion thinkable due to the fact we all interpret things different .Taking anything on here seriously is the problem that many have,I learnt a long time ago ,its just words . Your right about the week link to every circle though but its knowing how to deal with it when it surfaces as it often involves a mate . I've recently cut ties with 8 lads that were going in a different direction ,one of whic
  13. Put me down for a copy mate please .
  14. Let the poor lad sober up before slating him .In the battle of wits ,its bad form to engage an unarmed man .
  15. There's a well grown roe kid back a bit on this thread ,carried when shot .
  16. Won't upload to there mate .I use that for pics and vids but something amiss with the cam.
  17. Farmers down here seem to spread lambing from late winter to early summer .Im told this is so there is never a glut on the market forcing prices down . On another note ,anybody know why i cant upload the footage from stealth cam to here .I can view it on pc but cant get it on any upload server including youtube .Nothing special just cubs chewing a wing and fighting but interesting as one of the cubs has a gammy front leg .3 days worth and only one shot of the vixen how strange .
  18. Pic from years ago where the shepherd saw this vixen take these lambs and more ,there was no other cunning needed than speed .It ran in and snatched one ,went off and was back for another .He's not a shooting man and the estate phoned me to deal .Took us a while to find the earth but was evident by the lambs feet sticking out one hole .Foxes are opportunists and will take whatevers most abundant .
  19. Because those farmers are hunting folk and won't have a bad word said about foxes killing lambs .
  20. Does anybody subscribe to the thought that maybe not all vixens are lucky enough to have help and that maybe if a strong dog fox is able to defend a territory from conception to birth then maybe he will help as like i say ,in all the years of watching cubs ive never seen another adult around the den apart from the vic least of all helping to feed. The fact that the dog fox, come the rut is prone to wander and that more than one dog will probably serve the vic ,further alienates any parental duties from a dog .Not many wild animals will adopt ,rear the young of anothers preferring the exact op
  21. Yep, stick to a small tightly knit group .Ive said it before but sometimes ones greatest achievements are your own downfall ,like being too generous with mates mates and so on .That wont be happening again .
  22. Female cubs can stay within the 'home' territory right through to the next spring I have found. Male cubs less so one presumes. No matter what we think we 'know' about fox behaviour, there's still much we don't know. Fox dynamics change depending on many factors IMO, food being one of them. I believe that they stay 'together' more if they are urban foxes as opposed to country foxes. But thats JMHO. Which is why cub hunting or Autumn hunting was popular in hunt country to disperse litters it was thought . Does anyone have any pics of a DOG fox at an earth with cubs ,either feeding or just
