  1. Ive just never heard them used for terriers .Fitness is all that is required in a terrier ,the rest will come about through work when of an appropriate age for which there is no physical preperation required other than fitness and the right mental attitude .If it makes you feel good Lee then crack on but not many lads will be doing that for sure .
  2. The mind boggles why its needed to be honest or is it for lazy owners .
  3. Right then believers ,how the f**k do you justify the disease that is cancer ,did your god think it was funny ,just or maybe a way of making some pray because i sure as hell hate any c**t that devised the hell ive witnessed.
  4. Hormones are one thing we blokes know nothing about,so I'm told monthly ,so why try to work out a riddle that's got no answer .Its pure common sense to let the bitch recover from the pups but its also important to have kept her fit and active during and after .I can't remember a bitch not working straight after but can a few that weren't committed the same as before to then tail off to a poor standard .These are the bitches I refer to not to breed to nor from the litter .I wouldn't say it was because of the litter as I'm no biologist but that is sometimes the defining point in a bitches career
  5. We arnt permitted to hunt mink here mate, anymore but terriers struggle to keep up alone that I know from experience .Combine your terrier with a couple of scent hounds though and your away .Keep to the streams and brooks or views will be far and few between .
  6. Have to agree with that.Glad to say I haven't had the stories that some lads are after describing. Must be a head wrecker to breed from a good bitch and see her quit after coming back to work after the litter. And a reason not to breed her again and from none of the litter .
  7. Happy days mate iv no probs with that at all, you probably follow the commandments anyway by default, like me, i have faith in jesus you dont, we can all get along. Iv went threw some dark times an came out the other side, an that was before i was a beleiver, so i think im pretty strong minded, Commandments ,now there's a word .Dictators all over the world have used that one to control the masses .I live by no commandments just human decency but your saying they are there anyway in the back of my mind from your bible ,a good angle too lol.Not trying to rub you up the wrong way but bad times
  8. Lol on 6 inches of gravel you will struggle to walk .2 inches is ample ,its the sub base that matters with drainage .
  9. Atheist- pure and simple mate ,a non believer ,a realist ,a strong minded person not prone to see ghosts ,hear voices or live according to a book nor keep boys in fridges .
  10. Most priests keep a choir boy in the fridge so they can slip into something cool after a hard sermon ,fact .
  11. Maybe say why you need them on here as you may be treating the kids lol.
  12. Was a moment when it all seemed a real task but what a stroke of luck .
  13. Nearly had a fricking nightmare this afternoon but turned out OK in the end.Tried a spot I thought was a dead cert but dog said no and that's good enough for this bitch .Walked her back to the road where she pulled a bit at a run in the hedge that lead to a small 4 holder the field side of a double hedge so crawling through a gap I saw the spoil from a distance and walked to it .The place stank of fox ,not necessarily a good thing but the bitch marked thankfully .Netted up the 4 holes ,dog in and sure enough off she went cracking up instantly. This place goes out into the field a bit as it used
  14. Stick a price on your next one it will go soon as mate
  15. On the subject of nets here's one - Years ago when at the South Devon hunt with a well known terrier man ,they put a fox in a small place on a bank in a wood .Hounds were taken back and the nets on .A small bitch was entered and charlie was out in a rush .Terrier man shot it the net and before I knew it hounds were on their way to break it up.The net was mine and I was damned if hounds were going to rip it up so I held the dead fox high with hounds milling about ,huntsmen red faced lol.One of the hounds got hold of it and myself and 20 couple ended up down the bank .I'd gotten the net tangled
  16. Are they all on commission Rob or do you just have hell of a collection lol.
  17. Your in a league of your own mate ,not many can rival you on small animals
  18. And some have built a rep on it too ,lying through their arses about beginnings. I used to try and double check ,triple check peoples word but that only leads to a messed up head .Unless its written down most lads modify the truth to suit a situation ,I've been guilty of it too with names from dogs past rattling about in my head .In fact unless I have paperwork to hand I say nothing as its easy to mislead .If you ask a lad enough times about the breeding of something he will undoubtedly change it and swear by it .Get a written ped with your pup copied from original or take the chance the breed
  19. Better get the Russell a jacket for the winter mate ,going to be a cold one .Mrs tiddlewink is tucked up and looks like you have been too lol.
  20. Funny how one offs stick in peoples minds yet the steady producers are forgotten .I know which I prefer.
  21. There's more falling out with dogs past than anything alive lol.Gave up years ago trying to fathom NS backgrounds because everyone tells a different story told to them from the man himself. He tied some up in proper knots to my knowledge and on purpose too .If it works ,breed it if it don't shoot it ,can't go wrong there .
  22. Very tame by comparison mate .The pup here had the bitch in a throat hold earlier on which bitch returned with a vengeance .Nothing to worry about though .
  23. Had been warm there too mate but a chill first thing may of brought them on I guess.
  24. Can't beat a day on the hill mate .Glad you enjoyed and bagged a stag .
  25. Went up to Ayrshire recently for last day of stags ,first day of hinds . First morning i met the young stalker at the allotted time and off we set in the estate landrover for the peaks surrounding the forestry .Parked on one of the tracks and headed up a ride to the hill.Jacob my stalker had his strong looking lab with him and we didnt get far when he air scented deer ahead so with a slower approach we creeped around the wood edge and sure enough there was a stag about 150 metres from the mouth of the ride and feeding along a grassing bank amongst the heather.Jacob crawled out to my shooting
