    Feed the best you can afford and judge the amount by what you see next time you feed it .To rate running dogs as equals to terriers in food required is silly .No greyhound man will feed fat of any sort when the dog is racing regular ,two totally different events requiring different approaches .I never sort the food I get .Cold days require a fat diet content in a terrier as this is where reserves come from .Greyhounds arnt conditioned to carry reserves ,its a balls out event .Greyhounds are rugged as soon as race is over whereas terriers are boxed ,walked on .The only thing I won't feed is tri

    All this talk of fitness or lack of it seemed alien to me .Surely the fact that a man has a dog of any sort means the desire to get out with it is strong .Fitness comes with work so work it .Whether its a running dog or a terrier get it out doing what its bred for .All this talk of road work and cardio is for dreamers with no real intention of working the animals .

    Cheers lads and like said ,time to commit fully to the young un here .She was ,in her day one of the most laid back terriers ive ever had .In latter years however she used to wind me up whining at a dig ,only satisfied with work ,something i got annoyed at until i remembered her hay days .Recent years saw her pick and choose where she entered lol but she;d earnt her retirement by then .Put a lot of rats out straight and some memorable digs .

    Before i begin this ,the bitch Blade has been pts .RIP old girl ,what good times we had . Turn of events . Phoned the vet on another matter and receptionist tells me they've had more definitive blood test results back and it definitely is NOT lepto .Spoke to vet on phone and was told it all points to cancer of the liver which explains why the sudden weight loss and loss of appetite and the massive bloated abdomen . Usually sort this kind of thing myself but didn't feel right so took her down ,cried like a baby and now off to bury her .
