    Sorry I hadn’t seen it but 100% nail on the head couldn’t agree more. I do realise I could be an ignorant dope without a clue but I put some of it down to the modern schooling now. I never had any schooling learned my reading and writing in young offender prisons and little else.     You get the right one they’ll kill as much as any in my opinion they might do it in a different style to a saluki but they will kill them. If you get 5 saluki xs and 5 3/4 grey 1/4 collie you’ll probably end up with the same amount of curs from each batch

    Don’t think it’s even economics mel I just think people don’t have the patience anymore to save for anything or go without something to put money aside for something else in the future. And nobody seems to be pointing it out the people in charge who should be looking out for the future generations just seem content for their pals in the banks to keep handing them rope. It sickens me

    No bud I wouldn’t really I’ve never really been into hares but used to have few days out with a few traveller friends in Northamptonshire they had mainly Salukis but the fair share of them ended up thumped.     No I get it. I was in London only 3 weeks ago and only my missus was with me we would have struggled to get a drink in around the west end. I don’t have any bank accounts and only use cash but she has a card a lot of the pubs won’t take cash now. I think they’ve copped on to what you’re saying about Ireland though. There’s too many people asset rich with farms etc. This mersecor deal will put pay to that it will take a few years but families will eventually crumble and sell.     mC HULL fair play to you your out a couple of times a week walking the walk and putting the miles in but there’s times you talk as if you’ve never left your back garden maybe it’s a wind up I dunno but if you’ve spent any amount of time out hunting with lads you’d realise and crosses produce different types whether that’s crosses of hounds terriers or lurchers to try and say an X will do that and a Y won’t just shows inexperience

    People in Britain and Ireland as far as I can see are being sold the image of being well off and they are buying the image with borrowed money. I heard one the other day went something like what would you prefer.. a €1000 handbag with nothing in it or a €10 handbag with €990 in it. I think if people of a certain generation are looking around them at the moment they know which one 95% of 20-40 year olds would be happier with. And it cannot last.

    Had a few cocker bred dogs over the years maybe 10 or 12 and I don’t think any made old bones they were all suicide bombers I think maybe 2 walked after a couple of hard digs but most were more than happy to see it through whatever the outcome

    These WMCs must really be gone to f**k these days. As an Irishman I never really spent any time in them but I’d of reckoned if a known house burglar came in flashing a wallet of cash they’d of knocked the crap out of him.     Love Christmas Day from start to finish go around on a couple of family visits in the morning time dropping off presents for the younger ones having a few drinks and catching up. Home then for a big turkey and ham roast with all the trimmings and a big bowl of trifle. Sleep then for 3 or 4 hours then up and get the place ready for a crowd to arrive in ours for a few drinks that night.

    Tell me if I’m wrong but what I’ve noticed with the few youngsters that are into the bit of hunting now is that they don’t want to put the time in. Putting in a day out after hounds or a couple of hours on a good dig just doesn’t appeal to them and I’d say ferreting is the same. They want to be out at night with a thermal kill a pair of foxes in a half hour and be home with the pictures to send about. Walking for hours is just too much effort

    Christmas party season is a young man’s game I really enjoy the Christmas period hounds out most days loads of digging plenty of drink and loads of family time. Last Christmas party I attended I was there as more of a tag along but I remember about 12 young lads killing each other full of drink it warmed the heart to see it

    I wouldn’t have a notion but I do remember back in the late 80s and 90s I drank with some brickies from Derry they all worked in 3 and 1 gangs and seemingly they used to make serious money but they worked hard for it I suppose

    Sooner 2000 pakis than the 3 English c**ts in my parish who have decided to take an interest in protesting the hunt 3 days a week and take into their own hands feeding peoples horses at the road side.
