My thoughts exactly the same as that P&G..........! Often i will position wires just before they emerge onto open fields and these "Headland" settings can prove very productive at times. A favourite location is where rabbits have to cross a dyke before emerging out on to the feeding ground.

CREDIT CRUNCH TIPS!!!! DON'T waste money on expensive ipods. Simply think of your favourite tune and hum it. If you want to "switch tracks", simply think of another song you like and hum that instead. DON'T waste money on expensive paper shredders to avoid having your identity stolen. Simply place a few dog turds in the bin bags along with your old bank statements. HOMEOWNERS: Prevent burglars stealing everything in the house by simply moving everything in the house into your bedroom when you go to bed. In the morning, simply move it all back again. SAVE money

Sure is at times.........but rabbits make big holes as well.........so you need to look at the whole picture for other signs like bedding scraped out from the holes etc.

This is aimed mainly at the less experienced guys and gals who maybe new to the ferreting scene and so i apologise in advance to the more experienced among you for pointing out what to you and me may be the "Bleeding Obvious" I have been doing some last minute rabbit control to the ancient trees on the golf course and was about to start ferreting under an old Sweet Chestnut tree. Last time it was ferreted we bolted quite a few bunnies from beneath the tangle of tree roots..........but this time, something wasn't quite right. On closer inspection, i found that the holes had rather a too sm

Any new pups that arrive here are ALL introduced to the ferrets as soon as possible.....it is sometimes the case that a pup and ferret kits arrive together.....which makes life easier and they will play together quite happily, eating and drinking from the same bowls. My dogs and ferrets have a mutual respect for each other......and on rabbiting days the ferrets will walk about from hole to hole working, often walking under the lurchers legs as he stands waiting for a bolt......and neither will take any notice of each other. Even my terrier who is a demon on rats......will not look twice at a f

Wine and Water To my friends who enjoys a glass of wine.. . and those who don't. As Ben Franklin said: In wine there is wisdom, in beer there is freedom, in water there is bacteria. In a number of carefully controlled trials, scientists have demonstrated that if we drink 1 litre of water each day, at the end of the year we would have absorbed more than 1 kilo of Escherichia coli, (E. coli) - bacteria found in feces. In other words, we are consuming 1 kilo of poop. However, we do NOT run that risk when drinking

Rugby in Heaven Two 90 year old men, Mike and Joe, have been friends all of their lives. When it's clear that Joe is dying, Mike visits him every day. One day Mike says, 'Joe, we both loved rugby all our lives, and we played rugby on Saturdays together for so many years. Please do me one favour, when you get to Heaven, somehow you must let me know if there's rugby there.' Joe looks up at Mike from his death bed,' Mike, you've been my best friend for many years. If it's at all possible, I'll do this favour for you. Shortly after that, Joe passes on. At mi

I was surveying the golf course today for a spot of last minute rabbit control to the ancient Sweet Chestnut trees, and i was fascinated by the gnarled shapes of the centuries old trunks. I snapped a few pictures of these old trees (estimated to be over 500 years old) as the patterns were intriguing............not great pictures i'm afraid. but facinating none the less. The rabbits must have lived under these trees for years.........I wonder how many generations of ferreters have been there before me and admired the same old trees?

Anybody know a good beginners ferreting book?
Rolfe replied to kristian's topic in Ferrets & Ferreting
Ferreting-An Essential Guide..........by Simon Whitehead. Not a bad ferreting book IMO. Rolfe -
I have one of Phil's dogs.......it shares the same mother as the one in the warreners DVD.........different litter though. All i can say is mine is an excellent ferreting dog, marks well, soft mouthed and is a demon around the nets.......but every litter and every dog is different. You pays your money and you makes your choice as they say. Mine is about 22 ins and as game as they come.
