  1. They have to pay for all the experience you will pass on if that's with a bit hard graft so be it. Ha ha

Hopefully it will be a bit colder on the high ground and hold them off a bit used to have a perm up Penrith way in the hills rabbits were always weeks behind the conys lower down but they were tough as owld boots bloody ferrets and dogs struggled to scran them don't no what they were eaten think they lived on heather hope you have a good one.One owld fart to another.

Decided to have a walk on a bit local perm not a lot on it so just took dog and a good old steady jill in me inside pocket just wondered down a couple of hedges letting the owld girl work the sets at her own pace she flushed 6bunnies dog got 4 all does all with young inside them the seasons are getting shorter and shorter infact don't think there's such a thing now they just seem to be breeding all year round. On me other local perm mixi just keeps popping up cold doesent seem to stop it we need a good few weeks freezing snow bound conditions like the owld days to sort things out. Cheers lad
  4. I've just replaced one of nelsons old basket with one of his new design and it is spot on.

  7. There coming into season my 2 are starting to get a bit musky best to separate them.

I have 3, 2 beddys and a lurcher and they get in no bother even enough room for them all to crash out after a hard days graft when a go ferreting only take lurcher so get her and all ferreting gear in touch wood never had a problem with it in the 2 years av had it costs next to nowt to get it serviced after a hard winters work..
  10. I have a jimny and love it half decent set of tyres on it and it goes anywhere took the back seats out and put a ali liner in to get the dogs and me gear in.

If you leave him in with Jill's when he and the Jill's come into season he will constantly try and mate with them as he is still a complete hob but just firing blanks if you want to leave him in with Jill's you would have to have him castrated but then he couldent bring your Jill's out of season my snipped hob lives with 4 Jill's but soon as they start coming into season he is housed by his self and only put with Jill's to mate with them and bring them out of season
  12. Had a trip to meet head greenkeeper at a golf course perm av just getting after the tour decided to try a few sets collared ferrets up and dropped a jill in this course is a links course put the locator on she was off the scale these bunnies go deep in the sandy soil.
  13. A can vouch for andys nets there first class how much are the poke nets Andy got some off you at a lurcher show but think they have found there way into some of the lads bags a go out with.

  16. Get rid of the cheap nylon nets there a waste of time a use nowt else but hemp nets a no they have to be dried but it doesent take long to hang them up have knit some spun poly and used them but still like the hemp.
  17. Cost me 60 quid for a hob snipped. And last time had 2 gills jabbed 15 quid each
  18. Just picked another golf course permission up secretary says there's loads of rabbits we will see could be a canny year 4th new perm this year.
  19. After getting the railway last week have just been contacted and got another golf course and a big open air museum.
  20. Good working ferrets are worth there weight in gold had a couple of sessions last week first day took 2 young Jill's from this year both worked ok and done the job and they will make the grade. Next day took my 2 old favourits both about 6 or 7 years old what a difference no messing about getting collars on straight down hole rabbits out followed by the ferts no nipping back down when you try to get them worked a hedge about 50 yds long no nets just flushing for the lurcher set both ferts away at 1 end of hedge and they just went from hole to hole working up the hedge real old pros. No messing
  21. probably a perm for the longnets (nelsons of course) i am getting to long in the tooth for crawling under them brambles or there is always the younger helper canny job for him lol.
  22. cheers mate need some new perm as all the local paces i have, have been wiped out with mixi got a few others but there a good drive nice to have some local were you can nip out for a couple of hrs. hows it going with you still full of busy.
  23. just had an email of a private steam railway asking if i want to sort the bunnies out on there land bit of a result as i have been told there is a lot of them about
