  3. I'll leave it as late as I can this year. I think it has to be 1st of December earliest and I'll try and get in the mood a week or two later. I'm having to work between Christmas and New year which I normally avoid like the plague , baa humbug....
  4. As young teens we found a very deep pond hidden away on a golf course inside a wood, legend spoke of a giant Zander somebody's brothers friend had introduced or lost in a legendary battle. I'd borrowed my father's vintage Abu 501? Reel had been attached with slip on ring on a cork handled float rod and fell in as I tried to climb through the surrounding jungle and toppled into the pond.i climbed in out of fear of repercussions. At the bank it was deeper than me at nearly six foot and after a few attempts to touch bottom I made the guilty walk home of about 3 mile...
  5. Taking kids out Sunday on canal hoping to catch perch or pike , thinking about drop shotting a small dead bait like sprats or taking worms as well never done it, any pointers . Best I've done was free lining sprats but casting is a bit tricky for kids with no weight....

  14. I think we should definitely nurture intelligent kids with grammar schools , and there is definitely an advantage to private schools even down to the catering lol. But would I want my boys in private schooling I don't know. I perceive it as a greater thing , hard to explain but it lacks humanity maybe my ignorance. If I had untold wealth I'd bring in my own educators and live away from most of society. But I'm not a fan of most people lol.
  15. My mate has Asperger's, he pisses loads of people off , no filter , I love it I've watched him tell chief engineers they're shite and all sorts , he's a decent friend although I tell him straight when he's being vile or cantankerous and he apologises lol, I'm less familiar with autism and I'm aware how extreme it can be . But there is definitely a road they can travel these days whether IT or work from home or government etc. we should utilise people's strengths ...
  16. No doubt she will eventually find other academic sorts and hopefully avoid the plebs and nasties. I think sometimes to experience life in such a way is a good thing. My mates daughter is Asperger's and not what you'd describe as street smart but has been in far east and Australia for two year and a year in Canada coming home for Christmas followed by another year in Canada before moving back to Australia, wow what a life experience, and probably learned a lot along the way. Some people just follow a path that avoids the worst of humanity, and at the same time you'd have taught her loads that y

I've always enjoyed the slightly more exciting side of nightlife , I've been to places I wouldn't care to ever see again but when young and seeking thrills and women . I don't cheat on the missus but don't judge people for it either, what's the quote " there is certainly no beauty on earth that exceeds the natural loveliness of woman" but thankfully I had some fun in my twenties/thirties and now have a wonderful family and never let my gaze wander .......lol.
  20. I enjoyed it too. Not too Hollywood and if you've not seen night manager worth a watch with fastbender.
  21. My Oldman came from poverty in paddington, three storey house three different lots in each house water tap on the flat roof, toilet outside. Played on bomb sites lost friends as a kid, slept in kitchen until 16 then got moved out to Slough , his father a 6.5 violent sort didn't want to go . When he was sent to the west country to stay with relatives during the war it opened his eyes to what was possible in life and he was certainly driven and didn't take any shit , I never wanted for anything growing and I guess he saw to that, but then we never stopped moving , I never stayed anywhere long an

It's definitely a worry for parents .
