I've enjoyed a bit of the ginger fisherman and various old school stuff on YouTube like John Wilson and whatnot, just been watching Matt Hayes and Mick doing ultimate rod race , not my fav but brought back some memories of watching with the old man...

Yep that's heart attack temps, you can acclimatise but it's a thin line between pain and comfort , comfort being hyperthermic. Rule of thumb is if it feels comfortable time to get out , tbh my varicose veins hurt bad in cold water. I protect my digits with neoprene and if it was just a plunge then there's probably less enjoyment other than escaping the frozen murderous water lol. Well done old chap ....

I agree the access at those beaches isn't great, the only iffy swim I've had was at coryton cove , had big swells which is quite fun but when it came to getting back in I had to swim hard and was knackered by the time I got back on beach lol. As for people saying they should go to local pool I think that's nonsense, but at the same time it takes a while to build up to cold water , judging conditions, wearing suitable gear , maybe using a float etc. rather than jumping in once a year wearing a Santa costume. Still if the conditions/decisions had been different, sad event but I'm sure lots of fo

Well both blanked, not a bite and the other anglers we met on travels the same , so don't think weather was on side, will be trying the levels next time, still good to have some fresh air and a catch-up with a mate.

Yeah I put a video on to build one and the guy said whatever you do buy the bearings upgrade rather than plastic bushes, so that killed that for a minute. As a kid I got bought a tamiya astute , spent day or two building it with my dad, later stripped it all down for a service and my Oldman told my mother that's the end of that then. But I had it going again that day, fond memories...

Gonna start off with this, hoping the curly tails come through , also heard if you hit a little weed a lot of plain lures stop moving but got a chance with these the tail will still flap a bit, put a quick link on trace so can swap about a bit...

Yep near me , far too lively , I was in Exmouth week before and it wasn't too bad , if there's waves in winter I'd leave it , I'm going in a few days time but if choppy I'll be in the river , tragic for their families, rip.
