  1. I only shoot Springers... But I've got some cheaper once I've bought as I've seen them etc... Impulsive.. Purchases to see how the work, one that's been pretty accurate, but several others that aren't one two tuned guns....that are OK after being tuned up a bit, but the Walther mechanism is amazing... I'd still love a TX
  2. I've got a very special 97. Pics soon! And I've got an LGV... The HW as new was fairly poor tbh.. In comparison to my old HW80 there was a floor in the finish I failed to notice until it was well shot in.... And the blueing is poor on the blued parts its nickel plated... The Walther however shoots like its been tuned, then I tuned it. Lol... A little more, better quality spring new seals and polish the right bits. I might be mad but a TX has a guided piston am I right?... Its not allowed to rotate?
  3. There are two Rifles in interested in having.. I personally beleive I've already got the other two best uns.. LGU or TX My LGV is an insanely fun gun, so accurate such a nice design. I tend toward getting a Walther a couple of places seem to have stock... But OMG the fish scale checkering on the TX.... Jeez that's lovely.
  4. It is fair to say, I don't see as many, and if they themselves are dwindling, no one would shoot them out responsibly, but there is a gamekeepers wisdom at work here that the f.... Government should not be involved in. They / we / normal original folk are sensible enough without Chris Packham... Swarms of detritus that eat the eggs of anyrhing that is at risk, rare or worth money is shot. To keep numbers down, easy... Simple... And if you can have a nice day, shoot well and have a pint after with yer pals, feed the ferrits and practise a craft of marksmanship at the same time.... It doesn't me
  5. Don't worry Pal, it's in the Guardian which means it's ceridied b+llshit I've already killed enough of them rough shooting on syndicate shoots in the 80s and 90s to make up for it
  6. Happened to me. HW Beech stock split during refinish.... But not like that.... Pics?
  7. Sack the twat and send him to a pub near me to lament his joblessness in front of the small holders, turkey farmers, gamekeepers, growers and generally sound people.
  8. Hey everyone.... So I've got this expensive chunk of walnut... Modified so decided to hand finish it.... It is without doubt the most painataking yet rewarding time consuning thing I've ever done. I'm not sure to refinish my LGV which needs it most badly thanks to a previous owner low on patience Nx high on cheap varnish fumes... This gun stock oiling thing... You can do it once or twice and leave it.. Looking flat and standard, but when you apply to coat after that all of a sudden the grain pops out at you. But also the hand application process shows its limitations, when you get
  9. I went for a stainless finish because I'll admit I actually thought the bloody thing was stainless. However it looks amazing and I mean amazing in Walnut, pics to follow when it's finished being... Errr.. Finished... But the playing is not great on my 97KT and the bluimg on the docking leaver retainer is pants it's all oily... Its not the HW I had when I was a kid and its taken a lot of fettling to get it shooting as good as a breaker LGV..... Mmmm..... That beasty looks like it'll suffer the same finish inconsistencies as my 97 KT Stainless IMHO... I came very close to sending it
  10. Oh yeah.... Did someone regretfully flog something or what hahaha
  11. It needed a new spring, main bolt was a tiny bit worn, there was the tiniest bit of barrel movement, all sorted freshly re. Molyied and shot it at proper power, its like a laser beam now..... Trigger is great... I gotta be honest my 97KT Stainless has a cust stock and shedoads of tuning work done to it included the trigger. IMHO the Walther Trigger with match blade is better.... And the recoil is still more predictable than the 97. If I can find an LGU.... Awff... Problem is a really good FT stock, its gonna be Warren Edwards and that dude is busier than a the Prime Minister....
  12. I store my Springer Collection, buttdown Barrels up.
  13. Sporting its new Nikko Longrangwr with zero stops, freshly resprung and tinkered card after card like this. Six shots in this before I lost my bottle and thought I might wreck it. Who needs a PCP
  14. Has it happens Phil, on this occasion you are right with a capital R. The one piece mounts didn't work at all on this occasion, they work well on my BSA Lightening and Cometa but on this larger Rifle the two rings allowed me to get the eye relief perfect and spread the forward mount forward slight knocks on the Nikko long ranger and a some twiddling and rezero through the same hole..... Chuffed.
  15. Updating my own thread to tell you this Rifle is like a laser beam... I'm getting ready to win win win...
  16. I'm a big fan of one piece mounts. I've got a set of set of Sports Match Two Piece Mounts but I also have a set of third party one piece mounts both 30mm.... I wonder which will be closest to bang on out the box
  17. Only open from Wednesday to Sunday..... Joined. Shooting Bisley this weekend.... Fab
  18. Funny you know I need a new pair of bins and I'll skint myself to buy a half decent scope for my favourite springer but I'm unable to bring myself to spend any money on binoculars....raising the Rifle to scan the trees is just daft and it's wearing my arms out
  19. I just bought a Nikko 6—24 SF with zero stop for 239 30mm tube for my LGV.. Do you think it'll make me like a world champ or what? Lmao. Can't wait to merely attach it haha
  20. The answer to that would have been simple. ZOS But they are being held in customs because the greedy drop shippers are trying to avoid duty by not officially importing them into the EU, so they aren't being invoiced or shipped correctly into the UK. Subsequently no correct paperwork no way of being evaluated... Takes ages... May never arrive. Most likely the same factory as some major brands. If you aren't bothered by an overly thick ret and the worst IR in history a 6-24x50 AOEG fifty quid on Amazon, tracks fine survives shock and recoil holds zero and is very clear. But not
  21. Bought a second hand LGV as some of you might know. Waited ages for a new piston seal to arrive from Poland, good quality item. Had a new spring and top hat and some delrin parts from TBT. It needed it, the existing top hat had ovaled slightly. Apparently the spring is cut for UK spec so with the top hat slip washer and one power band and the whole thing cleaned regreased and reassembled it shot a JSB Heavy Right through my wadded pellet trap and into the plastic box behind and registered 16.2Ftlb....bugger. Out came the angle grinder and the blow torch I did one coil to
  22. Excellent. The best. He's hard to flippin get hold of as well! Some bloke on the other place Shauny... Complete arrogant bellend..... Apparently Paul Short doesn't have a clue. As he basically poo poo'd lighter actions shorter strokes. Mega jealous of the tune. Just hope my work it out ya self attempts shoot as well!
  23. I've just this second seen one shoot 177 7.9 grains 10 pumps .. Doing well a lot more without blowing the blokes hand off. 11 plus ftlb... On YT.... I had one as a young man un modified which I shot against competitive pistols with outstanding results, would be fun to modify one.
