If one had whipped down a sid alley and appeared in front of you. They are just vermin mate. The damage is huge isnt it. If someone can tell me how hundreds of gulls flying inland and crapping all over a playing field and spreading salmonella is a good thing. I don't know the legislation but I don't ever recall seeing one shot I'm 52 and I've been shooting since I wad, 13. Never seen anyone shoot a gull. I'm off to Google. It.

Recently I've been experimenting with a wide range of pellets in different spring Rifles... I have to say I thought I'd found that H&N Field Target Trophy pellets wee pretty good, then I got to my second tin and, all my groups expanded in the black to look like a pepper pot rather than one jagged hole in the centre of a 30 yard target. I went back to my AA FT 4.51s and the group was back. I tried some Bisley Super Fields and at first they grouped then they stopped. Finished my day shooting around 100 more AA with OK results... So I get home and I'm feeling a li

Seagul muggings are up. Jeez.

Yeah I gotta say I'd agree. Head shots. Gulls are a messy pest.

I asked to be banned. Met some top blokes on there. Kept in touch with those that wanted to be mates and learn with me, help me, guide me and accept my knowledge and views. But you read the caveat on the entry to the site, it might as well say. People with a view they wish to express, might as well not bother. As we'll report you, complain, and generally behave like arrogant self assured bullies. Apparently they followed me to the Chinese forum as I've got a couple of Chinese guns I want to put right rather than give up on. They are... Mental. Frankly.

You gotta watch out for them. I was told by a cornish chip shop owner that gulls coming close to their food had caused cases of Salmonella that they had been nearly shut down for, when actually it was the gulls hanging around trying to pinch food and their customers sitting and touching walls and ground where the gulls had been. Bloody awful pests IMHO.

Yes mate I quite agree.. I weigh pellets and try different positions, I bracket below 11.5 and I mostly like my target springers below that to get recoil under control. If I see something close to 12 I usually err on the side of caution. Anything I buy that is powerful as hell as new. I check right out. To the best of my ability. I'm not too anal about it, but I keep notes just in case. I'm getting quite experimental with some parts at the moment and expect power to drop then rise and then further spring mods to be required. It won't get let out of the "shed" until its well below 11.5 as I rea

I wish I could recommend FX Radar. I'm a computer engineer and the software is nonsensical, also it wi randomly ignores shots, and just will not comply with reading low grain now lead green pellets travelling at high speeds. It worries me it asks for speed brackets, as if the software wants to know what to expect from the device? Hopefully it's keeping my fettling legal and so far it checks out with others... But I do check it. They also decided to remove the Tripod stand, which made it better of silencers. But it reads better of the stand on my HW and various springers.

What forum was that mate. There's a whole lot of madness out there. I'm glad my club seems to be welcoming. Just gotta wait for it to open again now... Ffs

Mate are that lot mental? I've just been banned. Some nice lads and a bunch of uptight know it alls..an in house designated tuner who disagrees with Paul Short and... Physics... And nothing but the prevailing wind tolerated. Until I read that I thought it was just me.

Can't stop purchasing Experimental Gear
JakeFury replied to JakeFury's topic in General Airgun Discussion
No, we may make the stuff available if we can mod the HW pistons easily and get hold of them. But the research will be "open source"...when I know it works I'll reveal as I don't want a load of broken Rifles on my hands. I think the delrin components and rings on the pistons are a red herring. Piston weight is key and if a standard washer can generate 18 ftlb as I've seen, then, no need to change that the rings would only be there to provide a run alignment for a smaller lighter piston. On 97 as we can see the piston is withdrawn and fired into the chamber, so any rings outside the chamb -
Can't stop purchasing Experimental Gear

I've tried a number of springs in this and other rifles. TbT short stroke is good, but Nylon66 I think is a better material for rotational forces. Short stroke with piston weight reduction is the way to go. Titan spring, ptfe sleeve. Don't get too excited but I have bought a whole piston and chamber for the 97 to do something radical with, and if it works were going to manufacture it as a kit.... Spoken with a lot of people whose approach involved rings, and buttons, and, tbh from an engineering perspective, I think a spring driven forward motion will yaw with rings, I've seen this -
I had to remove about five!... I wanted to reduced the recoil. I found that as was momentarily quite illegal before the angle grinder came out again and I removed two more coils, I had it at 11.8 to 11.5 but it was still recoiling quite badly quite a light gun.. So power has to match weight for me IMHO.. .. Then I got some Nylon66 bits, and the wow... All the rotation in recoil was gone, just gentle nudges you as it nails the bull... Well well pleased...

Don't you find they lock really nicely? For a cheaper rifle the realign on closure perfectly. Did you Tru Oil yours? I've been emailing Will, but I think he's having a bit of a time of it over Covid perhaps hasn't answered an email for a while.. I used Nylon66 bits in the final. Version and I cut down a titan 9 to 19.5mm and it uses about 5mm preload. It's more consistent and accurate than my unturned 97K now haha... Mental... Gonna do that next.

I would have shared this on another forum, but... They already know so much.... almost everything it seems some really nice lads, some... really not so much.... So..... I thought I'd share it with you lucky peeps instead. I decided to try and make a nice shooting gun, accurate and some squirrel power out of an cheap springer that I was given when a good friend passed away. Good reason. I've been working on it for ages to find the sweet spot for power vs accuracy and trying different delrin and Nylon66 parts I've modified. And at last today, i finally nailed it... A Remington Express. Wi

I've got three or four various springs and guide sets for my 97. Looking to lighten the action as well.. May buy a new cylinder and piston for tuning. Lucky the pubs are shut!

North, Near Aldershot. I drive as often as I can to shoot at Laines in Andover and I have a permission between myself and the back of Guildford for practise and the odd quarry... But mostly I just shoot card after card. I love to mess with my innerds.. I'm hoping to turn my 97 into a full comp ready gun. Cos let's face it... They are wild well mine is. Torque recoil all over the shop. Better now Hoping to short stroke it, lighten internals maybe develop the idea for a wider audience if it works. I've tried picking some brains on tuning, but the real guys are a very

Hello all, I initially posted this in the main air gun forum, apologies, I am, in this case caught wanting on observation skills... Here's my hello..... Just thought I'd join up, and see if anyone else with my interests and views exists in these parts. I am interested in Spring powered air rifles, tuning, repairing modifying and generally messing about with them in a safe and Chrono graphed fashion. I like to ventilate the odd Squirel and have been known to take the occasional rabbit...woody, and the associated pests. I've got a long love of all shooting sports in
