  1. I think your post is way out of order !!!! I'm a member of HuNtErS=UnItEd AND The Hunting Life AND sMoochers and other sites and I take exception to your steryotyping !!!!
  2. Rch Country Music had greyhound on both sire and dams side. It was a "non- pedigree " racing whippet and would not have been allowed to race in Pedigree racing. How it's grandsire, Wishy Was, got K.C. recognition, when it was basically line bred to Blue Peter, is anyones guess. Cheers.
  3. Ferret, I'm a bit confused; are you replying to me or Kate ? Cheers.
  4. Pointless, absolutly pointless; she comes on here and says, compared to her pedigrees, our dogs are "mutts", "less than lovely" and she "doesn't breed crap", then accuses US of being intollerant and predjudist !!! As I said, Pointless, end of stupid conversation !
  5. Some people may think it's not much more than a car; but my Hyundai Santa Fe 4x4 2 ltr diesel does over 40 mpg, driven carefully; has very good comfort and plenty of room, gets us, the dogs and all the fishing gear everywhere we need to go. Me and Longdogrunner went beating up Northumberland in it a couple of times, and got everywhere the other 4x4s got . Cheers.
  6. "Ugly Mutts", "Less Than Lovely Specimens" , "You Don't Breed Crap" !!!!! Kate, whatever it is you are trying to say, you come across that ALL non pedigree dogs are lesser animals than pedigrees !!! You may not MEAN this, but it sure SOUNDS like it. BTW, I work a show quality Doberman and also a Lurcher, I wouldn't say either was an ugly mutt !!!! Cheers.
  7. Yeah, Iv'e seen Silkens advertised as Longhaired Whippets in Canada, but they have always had Borzoi blood in them and usualy origionate from Silkens. Back in the 60s we used to see the odd broken coated or rough coated non-ped racing whippet , probably due to a bit of terrier or collie in them !!! Cheers.
  8. I think the dogs you show are Silken, also known as Windhounds, basically a cross between whippet and Borzoi. I think they are recognised by the Canadian KC, and possibly the AKC, there are a few breeders in Europe aswell. http://www.borzoi.cc/gryffynsaeyrie/silkens.htm Cheers.
  9. Sorry Kate, but your remark about "ugly mutts" IS ignorant ! Plenty of people who work crossbreeds find them just as, or more, attractive than purebreds, many of which bare little resemblence to the origional working dogs; having been changed beyond recognition by the show fraternity. Cheers.
  10. I take it you mean sea fishing ? Used to be great, years ago. We used to get the bus up from Newcastle when we were kids. Don't know what it's like now. If you fancy a bit of trout fishing, Fontburn and Keilder are not that far away. Cheers.
  11. Hi Molly, I may be wrong, but do you lived in Northumberland ? Anyway, there are Muntjac at Keilder, don't know how far they have spread yet. We had one run past the cabin, 100% munty, The local farmers and poachers at Falstone, just below the dam, told me where to see plenty of them, will try and get pics next time I'm there fishing. Cheers.
  12. Nice; but shouldn't they be in the "shooting" forum; this is the "show" forum. Cheers.
  13. Yeah Pat, she won her class again, she's standing a lot better, now she's a bit older. We will be at Blanchland on sunday, are you going ? Cheers.

  16. Last week had 20 rainbows using only pink powerbait eggs. Yesterday couldn't get a bite, at the same place, no matter what we tried. Once had a trout full of tab ends !!!! When they are feeding they will take just about anything. Cheers.
  17. how many lurcher events Try contacting the contact number, no info on the show list we have. Cheers.
  18. Still don't really understand this , 1st you ask if anyone had heard of the dog and that you "heard" it was a good'un; then you proceed to tell us all about it and that you have dug to it.......... Confused me Cheers.
