  1. Can't see a Spaniel adding anything to a Lurcher, or a Lurcher adding anything to a Spaniel !! So a pretty pointless cross in my opinion. Lurchers have their job; and Spaniels have theirs. Obviously some one will post that they have a Spaniel/Lurcher cross that is a world beater, but I'd still not have one ! Cheers.
  2. Are Lurchers, in general, and Bull X's , in particular, what you REALY want to be into, if you feel guilty about putting a dog outside, into a kennel, I presume ? Cheers.
  3. My Deer/Grey bitch was 26" and 53lb at 5 1/2 month. She levelled out at 29" and 75lb' 5 1/2 months; 18 months' Cheers.
  4. Liver is great for adult dogs, full of iron and protein, but to much can give dogs the shits. Most pups can't keep raw liver down, and throw it up, so if you're feeding a pup liver, boil it and only give small amounts. Cheers.
  5. Do you honestly believe a Deer x Bull is the best allrounder ?? How many dogs have you had or seen ? How long have you been into working Lurchers ? Seems a strange choice as an allrounder ! Cheers. i,ve had dogs for years ,hunted the last 18 years ,seen hundreds of dogs ,and the best allround dogs i,ve seen is mine ,deerhound/bull greys with a bit saluki in the mix ,and for been a strange choice why would that be ?i,m not talking halfx ,i.m talking a mix of them both You said deer/bull cross in your post, thats why I said it was a strange choice. Deer/Bull/Saluki/Grey is a d

  7. HAHAHAHAHA WHAT PLANET ARE YOU ON IF YOU DONT MIND ME ASKING? I think you need to put another worm on that hook MOO............ It doesn't need any bait on the hook... I wish the fish would bite like some of the people on here !! LOL !! Funny as feck !! Cheers.
  8. It's very simple.... If you are not 100%, absolutely confident in what your'e doing; GO TO A VET !! Yeah, vets rip us off, but they know their job. If you try to do it yourself, and get it wrong, you will pay far more in the long run, or even lose your dog ! Cheers.
  9. Supply and demand !! The people in the know, will either rate the dog and use it... or not rate it and not use it !! There will still be some people who haven't got a clue, who will use the dog and think by paying £750 for a stud, they are guaranteed to get winners !! Unfortunately it doesn't work that way, but people will still try !! Cheers.
  10. Very nice ! How many hens will fit comfortably in there ? I've just got an allotment, and as soon as I get it cleared, I'll be building something similar. Cheers.
  11. ERRR ..... There has been many marches, and pleanty cracked heads on those marches !!!! Cheers.
  12. I got my reply yesterday from my MP, Kathy McKinnlen, Lab, Newcastle. She also said she would not vote for any repeal of the Hunting Act 2004 ! So any lads who work dogs that live in Newcastle, and vote Labour, THINK AGAIN !!!!! Cheers.
  13. Good question ! I tend to agree with Socks; I've allways thought of Beddy/Staffy/APBT crosses as "Lurchers" and JRT/Patt/Fell/Border/Lakie crosses as "Wirriers; but I'm sure both terms could be used for ALL types of Terrier/Whippet crosses ! Cheers. PS, I don't think the name "Whirrier" is new; I've heard it used for at least 40 years. Cheers.
  14. Moo, my young bitch isn't a pure Deerhound; she's a 1st cross Deer/Grey. And I know what you mean about them not growing old... she frightens the life out me at times, the way she takes obstacles at full speed ! cheers. Bosun, it's a hypothetical question I'm asking. I wouldn't hesitate in advising anyone to use Bruce as a stud. Cheers.
  15. Behave yourself !! LOL !! Bull cross Cheers.
  16. Bruce has got everything needed, except one thing; we haven't got a clue how he's bred, except that he is out of a pure Greyhound bitch. Cheers.
  17. It'll be a few seasons yet, before Lima gets lined !! She's only had one season of graft!! But got to admit; she does the graft ! Cheers.
  18. He hasn't done half as much as his sister..... but I'll keep him in mind !! LOL !! Cheers.
  19. Good reply mate ! Yes that would be a good stud for her.... if it had been worked and was from working stock ! Cheers.
  20. You obviously know nothing about cats ! I've seen one of the best dogs laid up after tackling, and killing, a cat !! An old bloke said "f**k cats !! A fox has teeth, but a cat has teeth AND claws " ! In fact, you know nothing about dogs if you think cats are a good way to bring pups on !!!
  21. Dan, Dan, Dan, !!!!!! You want me to put Saluki blood into my dogs ????? You know what I think about pencil knecked snakeheads !! LOL !!! Cheers. Saluki my ass. That's like sayin greyhounds have bulldog in them cuz somebody wrote it down in a book 100 years ago. That pic you put up looks like a snakehead to me !! May be a good dog thought.... Cheers.
  22. That would be great, if I could find a decent working one. Cheers.
  23. Dan, Dan, Dan, !!!!!! You want me to put Saluki blood into my dogs ????? You know what I think about pencil knecked snakeheads !! LOL !!! Cheers.
  24. Yes mate, there are some tremendous Grews around ! I go to the Whippet Racing most weekends and some of these Non-Ped Whippet x Greyhounds are unbelievably fast ! But the bitch is fast enough, and I'd just want to keep the speed but increase the size of the pups if possible ! Cheers.
  25. I probably won't mate her; I've never bred a litter in almost 45 years of owning running dogs, BUT.. If I was to, I wouldn't introduce another breed into the line; so would probably go against the current THL line of thinking and use a top class Greyhound, or a 1/4 beddy 3/4 grey or a 1/4 Deer 3/4 Grey ! Cheers.
