    There are nine hunts in Northumberland, and they sometimes overlap. The main hunts around Fontburn are the North Tyne, the Border, the Percy, and the College Valley Hunts. Cheers.

    WhippetxGrey; I'm only saying it as I seen it !! I had Non-Peds in the 60' and 70's and would never knock them; in fact I may get one to race at my local tracks, just for nostalgia !! LOL !! BUT, for all round day to day, (and night to night), working; you're better off with a well bred Lurcher ! The daft thing is; I've heard of more and more owners of pure Deerhounds, pure Salukis and Lurchers wanting to put their bitches to the top Non-Peds...... and I'm sure they will produce some top class dogs !! Cheers.

Cheers. cheers cp, i never seen 1 work, tho they were used to great effect a fair few years ago were i live now Just my opinion mate, but they were/are thin skinned and prone to foot injuries, not the greatest stamina..... but boy, could they kill a hare !! Cheers. thin skin that always put me off, last ole bitch had skin like paper, cost me a lot in vets bills over the years Buy a suture kit or stapler and practice on tissue paper !! LOL !! You'll soon become proficient ! Cheers.

    Sounds good But, and I'm only being "Devils Advocate" now, how will you tell which is Whippet/Grey and which is pure Grey ?? There's a lot of un-tattoed Greys running in the Lurcher racing now.Cheers.

    As WxG has said; I doubt you will get the fastest Non-Peds turning up, as all the BWRA/NWRF dogs will allready have their season planned, but well done for promoting Non-Ped racing, they realy are something special to watch over the shorter distances ! Will they run out of traps or hand slipped, is there a height or wheight limit ? Shouldn't make much difference either way. Good luck. Cheers.

    It depends on a lot of things; the dog, the owner, the land, time of year, etc. All dogs are different, some start early, some later. A decent owner would know when his dog was ready. I started one at 12 month and 1 day, she ran and killed her 1st hare without any problem; another, I waited unil she was nearer 18 month before entering her to hare. So a simple yes/no poll doesn't mean much. Cheers.

    I'll agree that Thatcher f****d the working man, (and not in a nice way !! LOL !!), but come on...you can't equate the 's with the 50's !!!! There was tough times after the war, but the 's there was no rationing, people wern't starving, we all poached and collected scrap, but there was no way we would go as hungry as people did in the 50's, 60's, etc !! Cheers. S.yorks was booming in the 50s and 60s and everybody was in employment not so in the 80s.and the old pitmen who i was on strike with said it was a lot worse and could only compare it to the war years.
