  1. That was the nicest stepping horse there, a proper "Ragmans" horse !! LOL !! That's allways a good ride out, from Walker to the coast and back. It was a nice sunny day, and had a few pints with a lot of lads I hadn't seen for a while, from Throckley, Lemington, Benton, etc. Hope they are still having the ride outs ! Cheers.
  2. It's still against the law not to fill them in and send them back ! I'd rather write a load of shit on it and send it back; than have te b*****ds fining me £1,000 !! This government want every penny they can get; and they WILL follow it up and fine you ! Cheers.
  3. Hate to put a dampener on it lads; but theres a £1,000 fine for not filling it in and sending it back, or destroying it ! Just put any shite on it.... For religion I put "St. Hubert of the Hunt" For "ethnicity" I put "none of the above" ! There's loads of other nonsence you can put on it, and not get into trouble, as long as you send it back ! Cheers.
  4. I recognise thar second pic ! Walker ride out wasn't it ? From the Fosse Bar. I was there. Cheers.
  5. It's all a bit academic weather it's "theft" or "poaching"; your'e gonna get done for taking them ilegaly !! Personaly, I treat them the same as anything else I catch, if the dog takes one... it gets eat !!!! Cheers.
  6. Change your vet !! Next he will try and sell you some overpriced complete food he has in his waiting room !!! Nowt wrong with RAW bones for a dog ! Cheers.
  7. Funny as fcuk ! Replying to your own thread with a different user name !! LOL !! Cheers.
  8. protein over load there pal, how much does that all add up to in 1 feed? dog must be the size of a t-rex?? I feed my dogs the same way; and they look and work fine on it. Cheers.
  9. This question comes up time and time again...and the simple answer is NO ! A pure Greyhound, especialy a track reject, will NEVER be as good as a Lurcher ! Of course we need them to PRODUCE Lurchers, but I've seen too many Greyhounds get seriously hurt, even killed, when being run as a "Lurcher"; better to use them in a breeding programs to produce good Lurchers ! Cheers.
  10. I'd be worried about the commitment of a dog that could be called off mid-course, but some people say they can do it. Cheers.
  11. I've never understood this "my dog puts loads of wheight on in summer" ! My dogs get pleanty of exercise, their food is adjusted to suit, and, although they are not in as hard a condition that they are in the "season", their wheight doesn't vary by much between winter and summer! Cheers.
  12. A 13 month old Bull X is still growing... so I'd forget about "on season" "off season" wheight just yet !! Let the dog mature, then worry about "working wheight" ! Cheers.
  13. Back many years ago, when I had Non-Peds, here "up North" we had a 21" limit, and some clubs had no limit; as long as the dog went in the trap, it raced. These were always time trial handicaps. "Down South" they went more for the yards per pound, and if a pup went over the 32lb limit, and had a bit of speed about it, they were sent north; Daisy, Robbo, Tiger Bay, and many more great Scratch dogs that went "over", came up here. When Whippet racing started dying off, the BWRA definately sold their souls and lifted their limit to 55lb. This was to accomadate the Whippet/Greyhound 1st crosses that
  14. They probably wern't born "pre-ban" !! LOL " I'm sure MLB or C/G will give you all the information on the parents, if you PM them ! Cheers.
  15. Bet you're feeling like a prick right now !! If you're not....you should be ! Two nicer lasses you couldn't wish to meet. They travel 1000's of miles to meet people and work their dogs ! Good luck to them !! Cheers.
  16. The question was quite simple; there are people who think that Non-Ped Whippets are breeding true to type, and shouldn't be called Whippets/Lurchers/Longdogs, whatever, anymore, and should be recognised as "Non-Ped Racing Dogs" ! Also, there are some in the Hare Coursing fraternity who breed Saluki Hyrids who think their dogs are now so specialised that they deserve distinction from Lurchers/Longdogs.I'm of the opinion that ALL lurchers/Longdogs are a variation of a TYPE, and would hate to see some get special recognition, as that would undoubtably lead to KC regerstration and the detriment of
  17. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news mate, but places like Netto sell 15kg of Wellers and 17kg of Wag Worker for £6. It's ok to use as a mixer with barf, but I wouldn't feed it by itself. Cheers.

  19. Cheers mate; I don't take much notice of Whins posts; when you can decipher what he's saying, he is usualy slagging any dog except his own special breed or talking about salmon and lobsters on a lurcher thread !! LOL !! I just thought the topic might get a few talking about "specialised" Lurcher types. Cheers.
  20. Maybe you mis-read the post mate; I wasn't crabbing any type of dog ! I think the Coursing dog and the Non-Ped are unbeatable in their own feilds, and can still do other things, so certainly not "one trick ponies" Cheers.
  21. Some good replies, thanks ! I personaly DON'T think they should be classed as seperate breeds, even though they seem to breed true to type. It's interesting, though, that the Non-Ped is now being used more and more in the coursing lines. Cheers.
  22. He's about as good as a £35 million Andy Carrol ! This is whats wrong with the world ! Paying money like this for footballers when a Premier game is priced out of a normal persons range; £40 for a ticket !! I'd rather take the dogs for a walk ! A shit premier footbaler is on around £20 grand a week, the super stars are on £100-250 grand a week !!! Can you imagine how much that is ??!!! Most of us on this site will never see that much in our lives !! And the best paid of them are ignorant chavs like Rooney !! FFS !! Cheers.
  23. Den, I think you probably know that I know what the definition of "Hybrid" is; I was asking a hypothetical question about Lurchers that is going around amongst lads with coursing dogs and Whippets.... It wasn't meant to elicit angry responces; ony genuine answeres. I don't know the answer, just posting what I've heard ! The people who are breeding the best coursing AND racing dogs, are adding to the best Lurcher blood, in my opinion ! Cheers.
  24. Excellent !! Exactly the type of well reasoned responce I was after ! Cheers.
  25. Just about my thinking ! Once "Registration" comes into it, then working ability gets forgoten about ! But strange things go on; just look at the "labradoodle", big money for them and there's people trying to get them KC registered ! Whatever happened to the Parson Russel since it got recognition, are any worked ? Cheers.
