The Kielder Observatory is great for star watching, very little light pollution Cheers.

Very varied, fells, coastal, arable, woods, heather uplands. Plenty to go at, deer , hares even wild goats. Kielder Forest supposed to have the biggest roe population in the country. White hares on the borders. Plenty reservoirs if you like fishing, or coastal wrecks. The place where Fullerton was bred and schooled is just up the road from me and is still lifting with hares. A lot of it belongs to the Duke and is well keepered but it’s a vast area and sometimes you don’t see anyone for hours. Thats what I like about this country, you can be on all types of l

Mate, I’m talking honestly and genuinely now. You know nothing of the countries, the people, the politics or the history of the Middle East other than snippets you’ve heard. Theres a book , The Seven Pillars Of Wisdom, by T.E. Lawrence, ( Lawrence of Arabia). He tell of the duplicity , the dishonesty , the broken promises of Britain, France and the Arab Kings, Princes and Potentates of the Middle East in the Sykes-Piqot carve up of the Middle East. I recommend you read it as, at least, a start , in understanding the complexities of the Middle East Cheers.

No, it was the spoils of war. Turkey was defeated, it couldn’t be allowed to keep an Empire that might make it powerful again, just like the Hapsburg Empire and the Holy Roman Empire. Where do you think we get our F35’s from ? Are you seriously suggesting that a country of five million people can produce every part of their military needs ? The UK has 70 odd million people and still relies on other countries technologies. Russia gets technology and equipment from China, Iran, North Korea, I doubt there’s a country in the world that doesn’t import technology. The yanks haven’t supported isreal in every war isreal has fought “Scream for peace” ? Are you watching what’s going on ? Isreal is still hitting Iran and refusing to stop the invasion of Lebanon. If we are talking about the modern inception of isreal, the have fought and won a succession of wars against overwhelming odds against the Arab countries that surround them; They took the Golan Heights from Syria. They took the West Bank from Jordon They took the Sinai Peninsula from Egypt . They are busy fighting a war on two fronts , against Iran and Lebanon and have control of Southern Lebanon. Almost every country can lose a war and survive, but not Israel; they lose one war and there’s no more isreal. Cheers.
