Forgive my ignorance mate, but how much planning does a trip like this take ? Accessibility , locks, moorings , etc, or is it as simple as having a map of canals and rivers and setting off ? Looks like a great adventure without leaving the UK ! Cheers.

mC and Bangers aren’t the same person…….but they both played an awful lot of truant from the same school. Cheers.

Yes it was about a court case ! Chid said he didn’t want a duty solicitor at the police station but twice at court he had solicitors that he didn’t pay ! You asked why’s that and we explained Legal Aid. Chid even confirmed it and said Charts right, I had Legal Aid at court. Just admit you didn’t know the difference between a duty solicitor at a police station and a solicitor acting for you at court being paid by Legal Aid ! Doesn’t matter how much you twist things, that’s the basics of it. Im out now , you’ll never admit to being wrong and I’ve got better things to do

This is getting very tedious . Still nothing to do with not knowing the difference between a duty solicitor at a police station and a solicitor acting for you at a trial being paid by Legal Aid, as you didn’t understand in Chids case. Cheers.

HOORAY !!!!! but he will come back with some nonsense! Us old ‘uns would have had a name for him ; Cheers.

Still got nothing to do with not knowing the difference between a duty solicitor at a police station and a solicitor acting for you at trial being paid by Legal Aid. Chid told us about his experiences and you asked why’s that ? We explained The difference between a Duty Solicitor at a police station and a having a solicitor paid for by Legal Aid at a trial. Chid has said that’s exactly what happened…he refused an offer of a duty solicitor at the police station but had solicitors paid by Legal Aid at his trials ! You either can’t understand or don’t want to. Cheers.

I’m sure he just does it to wind me up ! LOL ! Cheers.

Off the scale ! PMSL ! Cheers.

it’ll either keep us on our toes or hasten the Alzheimer’s or dementia. But it’s probably more challenging than doing the Times crossword everyday to challenge the brain ! LOL ! Cheers.

Learning from life ! I like it ! Cheers.

He knows he’s wrong mate, but he’s like a truculent child refusing to accept he was wrong. Here’s a situation; I get arrested, I get taken to a police station, in the interview room I get offered the use of a duty solicitor. I can accept or decline the offer. I get charged and get a court date, so I contact my solicitor and instruct him that I’ll be applying for Legal Aid. I’ll be means tested and if I qualify for Legal Aid, my solicitor will be paid for by Legal Aid, if I don’t qualify , I have to pay my solicitor. The duty solicitor at the police station and the Leg

What’s that got to do with you not knowing the difference between a duty solicitor and Legal Aid, as in Chids case, which you questioned at the beginning of this increasingly tedious exchange ? Cheers.
-
No, you asked how Chid didn’t use a duty solicitor but got free solicitors at his trial. Weve tried to explain to you that a duty solicitor at a police station is completely different to getting Legal Aid at a trial. It’s you who keeps moving the goalposts instead of just admitting you didn’t know the difference. Cheers,

I don’t believe you are this stupid, mate, you must be on a wind up ! Cheers.
-
I don’t care !!!!!!! You refuse to see the difference between a duty solicitor at a police station and a Legal Aid solicitor at a court case. Cheers.
-
But that’s not what you said at the beginning of this ; you were confused between a free, duty solicitor at a police station and Legal Aid solicitor at a court case….. two completely different things. Cheers.
-
There’s always a duty solicitor, even if they are just “on call” . Stop digging mate……. Cheers.
-
None of which has anything to do with Legal Aid ! LOL ! Cheers.

My younger brother was arrested as a minor, about 14. We didn’t have ‘phones back then, a policeman came to the door and said someone over 21 had to sit in with my brother. My dad was away at the time so I pretended to be my older brother and offered to go. The policeman was in a car but refused to take me, I had to make my own way there. After he had been charged they said take him home. I said where are his shoes and socks, they said they were keeping them as evidence. I asked for a lift home, no way, and no money for a taxi so he had to walk home, barefoot in the rain.

Everyone’s ALLWAYS been entitled to a duty solicitor, but fifty years ago there wasn’t cctv and video recordings in rural police houses ! And they weren’t allways honest with you ! LOL ! You should have had an adult present when you were arrested at eight year old. Cheers.
-
Fixed that for you mate Cheers.

My brother and I were charged with GBH and Trespass in pursuit of game or coney, over 50 years ago. He qualified for means tested legal aid , I didn’t. The solicitor was a pal of our dads and advised us that he would represent my brother on legal aid and me pro bono as we were being tried together. We were found not guilty of all charges. We were never offered or asked for a duty solicitor when charged and interviewed at the police station, Cheers.

Let’s go back to before you realised you were wrong and started moving the goalposts. Chid said he never had a duty solicitor at the police station but was at court twice and never paid for a solicitor who represented him. You said how’s that. Franks Dad said legal aid. You didn’t understand the difference between duty solicitor and legal aid. when it was explained to you, you won’t accept it and started moving the talking about “duty free solicitors” ! Your digging a deeper and deeper hole instead of just saying “ah, ok, I get it now “ LOL ! Cheers.
