The Ummah is a fallacy, where are the Pakistani and Indonesian brothers now ? Nothing to be heard from them. Even the Saudis, the Custodians of the two holy mosques, want nothing to do with it. The most fervent supporters of Hamas and Palestine seem to be white, left wing, middle class social justice warriors ! Just a little tale from many years ago, Wilf. It may sound like bullshit, but I swear on the graves of my kids it’s true . I had to go from Saudi to Australia about 20 odd years ago and decided to take the wife along. Anyway, we applied on line for the visas and it cost a non-refundable £26. My wife’s was issued immediately, but mine was rejected. I thought I’d maybe made a mistake so tried again. Rejected again, another £26 gone ! Yes, it’s one of the most sought after passports. I know many people who went into Oz and NZ on British passports, including my late daughter, who had no problem getting residency and then citizenship. I know the rules are different now, but as we are on the subject, I know Palestinian’s who spent their entire families life savings to have their pregnant wives give birth in either the UK or USA so the child would get the passport. That loophole is now closed, I’m informed. But it was seriously like them winning the lottery for one of their family to have citizenship. In my own cas

Hamas don’t want a peaceful solution. They are hoping that after their beastial atrocities against innocent Jewish women and children, Israel will reply with overwhelming force and that would lead to the Arab and Muslim world rising up in Jihad against Israel . That won’t happen, especially now the Saudis have asked the Americans for a mutual defence pact. Of course the likes of Hezbollah and maybe some factions in Syria, will lob a few missiles, but no country in the Middle East,apart possibly from Iran, will do anything other than shout and wave Palestinian flags. Most of the Arab countries are making peace and doing deals with Israel ! Its the Iranians who are trying to reverse this by backing Hamas and Hizbollah in their attacks on Israel. Cheers.

You have to question Hamas’s motives for such a barbaric attack ? They must know that Israel’s response would be overwhelming. Are they hoping that newsreels of a devastated Gaza and pictures of dead Palestinian women and children will sway world opinion and Isreal will be villified ? Are they really willing to sacrifice thousands of their own people to sway opinions and gain a political advantage ? Cheers.

The Israeli’s are in an invidious position ; if they raze the Gaza Strip to the ground, as I’m sure they’d like to, they will be likened to the nazi’s. If they don’t, it will embolden every terrorist that hates them ! The UN Secretary General has just been on the news condemning the siege and saying the UN will send aid to Gaza ! I worked with the Royal Saudi Airforce at the Air Defence Centre in Riyadh back in the 70’s and one specialist could track every Israeli air movement near the borders. I know that surveillance has improved massively since then, so even if everyone was on leave, which is doubtful, there would have been automated responses to any breaches. Someone seems to have been asleep….. Cheers.
