  1. Just a microcosm look at Chinese technology; I was in Australia and there was a promotion display of the Chinese Great Wall Steed pick up. I had a look round and they seemed ok, especially for the ridiculously low price. A couple of years later my local Citroen dealers was full of them, a bargain compared to the mainstream pick ups. Six months later they were gone and it was back to being a Citroen dealership. Later on I was at a shoot and a lad pulled up in one, he got out, slammed the door and the back window popped out and shattered ! I asked him what he though
  2. Mushy is truly “a riddle, wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma”. Apologies to Sir Winston. Cheers.
  3. If Chinese technology is so good, why are they spending so much money, time and resources trying to steal ours ? Cheers.
  4. What the...........? Bit of heatstroke mate ? Cheers.
  5. Looks like "Shock and awe" has started in Gaza...... Cheers.
  6. Everything is bigger in America ! LOL ! Cheers.
  7. You're reading Einstein now ???? I knew my perseverance would pay off ! Well done, young man ! Cheers.
  8. I'm not sure they would form a new party, and if they did, I'd expect it to be after the Tory's get decimated. Who knows, maybe the sitting Tory MP's I've mentioned may defect to Reform, apart from Mogg, he's Tory to the core, even if his party is moving to the left and leaving him isolated on the right. Farage was feted by the Tory right at the Conservative convention, and the rumours about him rejoining the Tories may have been a diversion while he tries to convince disaffected tories to join him in Reform or a new party. I think a lot of Tory MP's will sit tight and keep thei
  9. I’d vote for a party of predominantly right of centre candidates. I couldn’t vote for the now left of centre Tory’s; I lent them my vote last time to get Brexit done and to keep that traitorous old communist Corbyn out of number ten, but the Tory’s squandered an eighty seat majority with in-fighting. No way could I ever vote Labour again, they are now the party of Islington champagne socialists, Muslims and immigrants, I feel they have abandoned the British working class. So, if a new party that, by and large, mirrored my political view, they would get my vote. Cheers.
  10. Why can't mods get likes ?!?!?! (It's a rhetorical question). Cheers.
  11. Boris Johnson has joined GBNews. Now that's Boris, Farage and the Tory MP's Rees-Mogg, Lee Anderson, Esther McVey and Philip Davies. Are they positioning themselves to start a new political party when the Tory's get the inevitable mauling at the next General Election ? The GB Party perhaps ? I'd vote for them. Cheers.
  12. Traffic Warden gives Dortmund bus a ticket; Must be a Newcastle fan ! Cheers.
  13. We were in the Black Garter, mate, you're lucky to get a glass in there, let alone a half schooner ! LOL ! The Germans were amazed at how cheap the beer was, I told them they were in probably the cheapest bar in Newcastle, apart from "Peppers", that is, but I wouldn't send even a German there ! Cheers.
  14. To be honest, hallow'een was nowhere near as popular as Guy Fawkes night here in the north east when I was a kid, and I can't remember anyone going "trick or treating", possibly because of the slums and poverty of Newcastle, putting food on the table for your own kids was a far bigger priority than giving sweets to strangers kids back in the 50's. Cheers.
  15. Not as bad as I thought, I reckoned on 12 months, but he's agreed to some sort of treatment for his so called gambling addiction for 8 months. Cheers.
  16. Funny how things change; during the war the Germans and Japanese were the enemy and the Russians and Chinese were our friends……now the opposite is true. Im a live and let live man, I’ve seen good and bad in all races and creeds, a bit like lurchers I suppose. I don’t go in for stereotypes. Cheers.
  17. Storm clouds gathering over St. James’ minutes before kick off should have gave me a sense of foreboding…….. Cheets.
  18. Don’t you be muscling in on my patch !! You have him googling furiously now We weren’t up to words like that yet ! Cheers.
  19. Never heard of pumpkin when I was a kid, it was always a turnip lantern. Cheers.
  20. We’ve had some dodgy Owners; Lord Westwood the pirate. Shephard the scrap metal merchant. Hall who bribed the council to allow him to build the Metro Centre on top of a toxic waste dump. No wonder us supporters aren’t bothered by the Saudi ownership ! Cheers.
  21. I found this hard to believe, but my neighbour who is Newcastles kit manager assured me it was true. During the Ashley era, at the training ground the players cooled of by getting into wheely bins filled with water !!! The new owners were aghast and immediately set about upgrading the facilities! Just imagine telling Messi, Harland Belingham “here I’ll give you a hand up into the wheely bin” ?? Cheers.
  22. There’s a lot going on behind the scenes as well. The street in front of the Gallowgate end used to belong to Newcastle, but Ashley sold it for a quick profit. The Saudis have bought it back and have got permission from the council to build a “fan zone” with licensed bars and food outlets and giant screens for around 3,500 people right outside the ground. People wonder why St. James park is such a weird shape, it’s because of the grade two listed street behind the east stand whose residents have always objected to the stand going any higher. Now the Saudis are in discussions with the
  23. "Fine margins" as Howe said. Wilsons saved effort and hit the bar twice. No good crying about it though, we wanted to be amongst the big boys and we are. we were worried about relegation two seasons ago, so I'm not going to worry about losing 1-0 in the Champions League. The atmosphe in town last night was great. The Germans were in the bars mixing with the Newcastle supporters unlike the French at the PSG game. Three more games in the group, I'll enjoy the ride, however bumpy it gets ! Cheers.
  24. It was a reference to Hemingways “Death In The Afternoon”, but I’d love to take up your invite Cheers.
  25. Having a drink with the Germans before the Newcastle Dortmund game; Got them on the Newcastle Brown Ale ! Cheers.
