  1. I watched that interview with Baroness Mone and her husband with Laura Kunesberg this morning. Its not about theft, it’s about corruption and abuse of power. Her and her husband at first denied they had any connections to the company that supplied the ppe. Then when it came to light that her husband had set up the company and had around £26 million in profits put into offshore trust funds for himself, his children and Mones children , she denied anything to do with it. Then it came to light that she used her position in the Lords to lobby other lords and MP’s to have the co
  2. The Houses of Parliament spent 70 hours debating going into an illegal war with Iraq. They spent 700 hours debating The Hunting Act. Labour MP’s openly said it was not about hunting or animal welfare, it was about “ giving Tory toffs in red coats a bloody nose”! Blair has admitted it was a badly thought out law, but he had to do it to keep the left of his party on side so he and Bush could go to war . The vast majority of people thought it was just to stop fox hunting, they had no idea it was to stop almost all hunting with dogs. MP’s of ALL sides lie continually
  3. We should go nowhere near Toney ! One gambling addict, Tonali, is more than enough. Toney wouldn’t fit in with the team spirit we have. Miley and Livrameto are class for their ages, 17 and 20. I think Howe is having second thoughts about Hall, we have an option to buy for £28 million, depending on appearance’s but it looks like Howe is not playing him so he can send him back to Chelsea, I’d rather see that money spent on a back up striker. Cheers.
  4. Newcastle are getting a few players back but it was a sickener today, Botman, Burn, Longstaff back but Scharr and big Joe out with hamstring injuries, it could, and should, have been 6-0 but I’ll not whinge, 3-0 is still a good result, even against 10 men ! Cheers.
  5. I was in town with my nephew and his mates for the Milan game and they were discussing the upcoming Sunderland - Newcastle game and we’re looking forward to getting their tickets and hiring a mini bus to go to the game. But the police have limited the away tickets to 6,000, (FA rules said we should have had 7,300) , and that was only on condition that every toon fan MUST travel in official Newcastle supplied coaches and can only pick their ticket up onboarding the coach. If Newcastle didn’t comply , the tickets would be limited to 2,500 ! Miss the coach, no ticket, and any Newca
  6. I think I told you I had to get old Delta put down, then the deer cross went the same way, I was in two minds about getting another dog in as I’m in my 70’s now, but a mate brought a coursing greyhound bitch over from Ireland and lined it with one of his deerhounds and offered to gift me the pick of the bitch pups so I leapt at it and glad I did ! So I’ve got this big thing keeping me busy , I only go to the two local hunt shows now, Horsely and the one at Twice Brewed on the military road. Big George from over your way judged the lurchers last time , had a goo
  7. Good to see you still at it Andy ! Thought I might have bumped into you at the Horsley show ? Cheers.
  8. I’ve never been without a dog since the 60’s even when I lived abroad. My missus whinges on that they are “tying” but they are less tying than the hens, ducks, quail I keep on my allotments, and less tying than the chihuahua she bought in Australia with my daughter and is sitting here on the settee ! My dogs are always kennelled and looking after them and working them is almost a full time job, it keeps me busy and hopefully fit. Strange isn’t it that walking a muddy field in the middle of winter is more satisfying to some of us than sitting watching daytime telly ? Cheers.
  9. This young deer/grey is enjoyable, and probably enough to keep me going now I’m in my 70’s , but I still have a hankering for a well bred non-ped whippet/grey, bit of racing, torment the odd hare, they’re easy to live with and give plenty of sport, so yeah, if a litter comes along that takes my fancy, why not ! Cheers.
  10. Ahh…..’76 ! The year my life changed irrevocably ! The year I married, but more earth shattering, the year I gave up the whippets and went full on lurcher ! Cheers.
  11. I’ve told you a billion times not to exaggerate !!!!! Cheers.
  12. I agree. It’s just I’ve seen quite a few Wheaton types some even with a majority of deerhound in them and none have made 28”. Of course it can happen , I’ve posted pics of a 12 lb non-ped whippet who’s litter mates went up to around 40lb ! So yes, it can happen, but it must be very rare for a 3/4 Wheaton, 1/4 grey to make that size. Cheers.
  13. Let’s be honest, the Tories are a shower of shit, they squandered a huge majority and the tacit goodwill of the people, but we are heading for a Labour landslide and they will implement the very things we are punishing the Tory’s for ! The Tory’s pretend they want to stop the illegal immigrants and reduce the legal immigrants, but Labour aren’t even hiding the fact they are pro immigration ! They will throw the doors open. We who are brexiteers are unhappy that the Tory’s haven’t implemented the Brexit we voted for, but Labour is openly stating that they want closer ties with the EU,
  14. Yet he gave a speech at COP28 in Dubai wearing a tie that was adorned with the Greek flag just days after the British Prime Minister had refused to meet the Greek Prime Minister to discuss returning the Elgin Marbles ! He showed who’s side he was on without uttering a single word about the subject. I couldn’t give a damn about the marbles, but when we’ve just spent millions on his coronation during a cost of living crisis, he could have backed the country he is king of, not the country that threw his father and his family out ! Cheers. ( and Wilf, if you dare to agree with
  15. That reminded me of a couple of incidents that happened in Saudi. The first was when I was in a bank and my missus was outside waiting in the car. There was a hell of a commotion outside so I rushed out.. an Arab Bedouin was being beaten down the street by police with canes. I asked my missus what had happened and she said he had come up to the car window , got his cock out and started wanking ! Some more enlightened Saudis seen him and started beating him up, the police arrived and they took over beating him ! Another incident was some American women who worked with my wife were s
  16. I was wondering that myself ? If I’m reading this right the dog is 3/4 Wheaton, 1/4 Greyhound, 28” seems very tall for that breeding. Cheers.
  17. Not quite the Mobil stallion, but a nice, easy going young horse; Not mine, by the way. It’s far easier and cheaper for an old fart like me to borrow than own ! Cheers.
  18. Just got an e mail from my energy supplier, Ovo, yesterday, going up by an estimated £100 a year. Doesn't sound much but along with everything else, it mounts up. Cheers.
  19. This is an absolutely true, first hand story. Around 1980 I was contracted to an Arab sheik. He was horse mad and extremely rich. He saw the advert for, I think it was Mobil oil, on tv, the one with the white stallion, and decided he had to have that horse and bought it. Anyway, it was very highly stung and uncontrollable anywhere near a mare, so decided to have it gelded. At the same time there was a crippled old donkey that wandered around the compound, so another Brit contractor asked the English vet if he could put the donkey down when he came to geld the stallion.
  20. Even if this law eventually passes, it won't make a ha'porth of difference. Individual illegal migrants will STILL be able to appeal and the ECHR court will STILL be able to over rule us. Even if the law is passed, it will be too late to try and deport anyone to Rwanda before the next General Election , which Labour will win, and Kier Starmer has already said yesterday that they will repeal the law. Its all just smoke and mirrors by the Tory's to look as though they are doing something, at last about illegal immigration, in the hope of saving some Tory votes and salvaging a few
  21. They are not new rules, mate, it’s always been the rule, but the premier league teams tried to change the rules to stop Newcastle loaning players from the four Saudi teams that the PIF also own. There was a vote and it needed a majority of 14 teams to vote for the change but only 13 voted for it and 7, including other teams like Man City who’s owners also own other teams voted against it. The problem is, the players that have signed for the Saudi league are on such enormous wages, Newcastle couldn’t take them on loan without falling foul of Financial Fair Play, so I doubt if we will
  22. Most of us never thought we were contenders. We though maybe five years before we cracked the top six. It was exceptional to reach fourth after one and a half seasons, the momentum couldn’t realistically continue. The horrendous injury list is having an effect now but it’s not an excuse, the squad is too thin, it will be added to in the coming windows. I’ll be at the Milan game on Wednesday, something I could only of dreamed of two seasons ago. Cheers.
  23. A Good Samaritan from these sites, who prefers to remain anonymous and hide his philanthropy, largesse, and leading role in “care in the community” behind a facade of toughness, laddishness and, frankly, misanthropy, helped out a poor old pensioner, (me !), by sending two pairs of Altberg Defender boots, one summer lightweight cambrelle lined and one pair of heavyweight gortex lined , but , being charitable, I think he forgot to include the sealskin socks ! Still, I pray for his soul, he’s a good lad really ! Cheers.
  24. Yeah, Kettlewells. Bob is a pal of mine he retired and sold the business on to a lad I know from Burradon. It stopped being a “real” game dealers many years ago. I well remember the hares, rabbits, birds hanging outside the shop when it was at the south end of the market, but it went more mainstream when it moved to the east of the market. I used to get all my dog food from there, Bob would bring it to his house in west Denton and I’d pick it up once a month. Id also get the odd pigs head that had been on counter display but you never see that at a butchers now, it mostly comes in pre
