I agree that Labour were democratically elected, but democracy also allows us to petition the government if they blatantly lied to us and ignore their manifesto pledges. Starmer is on record castigating the Tories for thinking of stopping the pensioners winter fuel allowance and saying Labour would never do it; then the very first thing they do is remove it. The former head of MI5 has just been on GBNews and is scathing of the Labour government and the Home Secretary in particular; he said she hasn’t got a clue ! This is a bit scary as the Home Secretary,Evette Cooper, is in charge of MI5 and all the security services ! Cheers.

Sort of relative to the post ; I got my Virgin Media bill today and it had gone up by £10 a month from £39 to £49 with no explanation. I rang them and got to speak to an obviously Asian lady who said all she could do was reduce my monthly bill by £2 ! I said close my account and I’ll go to one of your competitors. She said hold on I’ll transfer you. I then spoke to a lass from Middlesbrough and she said give me a minute, she came back and said I’ll cancel this months bill, next months bill will be £20 and then £28 a month guaranteed until April ‘26 , how does that sound ?

My son went around the world teaching embassy staff about biometric passports and how to spot fakes. The one country he refused to go back to was India ! He had such a bad case of “Delhi belly” he said he’d resign rather than go back there ! Cheers.

I know it’s hard, Ray mate, but I think it’s the yanks that have the saying “ if life deals you lemons, make lemonade” ! Take a bit time and indulge yourself now and again; I bought a nice bottle of bourbon for the first time in ages and just sat and enjoyed a bourbon and coke. He is, mate ! His grandfather is Chairman of a rugby club so he does a lot of rugby as well as football. Please forgive my indulgence but I had a very happy day yesterday! Some years ago I thought my family line was over, but no, I now have a few young “Charts” to carry on the family name ! My two great nephews Harry, 6, and Freddy, 3 , and my grandson, Adam, 9. No matter how bad the county seems to be, there is always something to be happy about ! Cheers.

Never had any time for him as a politician, but had some respect for him going from a steward on cruise ships to Deputy Prime Minister, and of course I can’t fault him for punching that bloke who egged him. Apart from that ; nah…..just another champagne socialist. Cheers.

Spent many a night at the old La Dolce Vita nightclub in Newcastle back when even such luminaries as the Krays made there way up here to visit “our friends in the north”. The Krays and Joe Louis in La Dolce Vita. Halcyon days. Cheers .
