    I walked out with the Kelpie Dam of Jigsaw's original first cross,...I rated her and possibly should have taken her home with me. I liked her a lot and as stated, upon refection, I was silly not to take her . Shortly afterwards, my pal swapped her for a Bull Cross . The guy was a friend of my old pal Dave Cooper (the Kelpie Kid?) and he pretty soon bred his own litter . When this antipodean herder really gels with it's running dog counterpart, the resulting pups invariable make a great starting point to create, a future line of lurchers....     Great to hear from you fellah? I know the ground you work,.. and as you say,...it was lifting with conies back in the day... The poor old shushis have taken a right bashing all over the UK,...they will return in many areas,.. they always do, but never again in vast quantity . Such a shame,...for without the rabbit, our beautiful English countryside is not the same,...and even for a retired hunter such as myself,.. I still like to see them.?     I am not keen on Moderation,...I've never done what convention dictated I do,...and that is how I still run, what is left of my life...in short, I am a great believer in letting folk do what they want to do in life.... Each to their own, etc...? BUT,.. sometimes,....these Sites, Forums, gatherings ,...seem to NEED some kind of Moderation...not too much,. just enough to keep interesting subjects on track, and to keep personal asides and 'bish bash' arguments away from the original thread....There is so much free info and knowledge, readily available to interested parties, but it gets

I have been researching the Smithfield Collie throughout our small island, since the early 1980's, and it's sensible to remember, that these ancient canines were incredibly varied in their physical shape, size, coat, etc.. ? There has always been a fair bit of romance connected to the hybrid running dogs, reputedly created from them, but that historical union, is a totally different discussion, to that of the original working animal....?     If, it is a puncture wound via the wire,..it is best to bath it several times a day with diluted, warm salty water(it will probably sting a mite?) and just allow the dog's tongue to keep the open wound clean...Such frightening looking 'holes' , critter bites, etc , need to heal, from the inside out,..? When you have been around running dogs for many years, you get to see some sights? Experience awards you with a confidence, to deal with such matters,.. but, when you hit the 'not sure ' button and the task looks to be beyond ya,.. its best to find a sympathetic Vet and get the old Ant
