Hi guys, I've not been to watch racing for years and was hoping someone could let me know of a track local(ish) to Lincolnshire. As a kid I used to watch whippet racing in Ilkeston and watch the greyhounds at Colwick and Long eaton.

Sorry mate, we have packed up ratting until the end of the year. We don't run a bobbery pack, just a collection of Patterdales, the odd Russell and Border/Lakelands. As for cider I don't know how anyone can drink it :sick: You in Lincolnshire? Cheers Simoman

Thanks mate, appreciate it, can you remember with which pack? Been once when I was younger with a pack that mate at a cider pub?! Think it was Gainsborough way on but not sure, I know couple of years ago a different pack came just north of Lincoln but I didn't hear very good reports? The pubs called the Brandy Wharf, between Gainsborough and Market Rasen, there are a couple of rat packs around Lincolnshire including our own.

The sad thing is that a couple of us record Most Haunted and Dereks new series Ghost towns so we can watch them at the weekend when we get together and wet ourselves at Dereks oscar winning performances. Funnt but our wives think we are sad :whistle: :whistle: We also see how long it takes before Yvette says "I've never been this scared before"

I've just got my first shotgun and with a mate we have some permission for shooting crows, magpies and woodies. We have a hide and decoys but where is the best position for the hide and what time of day is best for shooting. We have been told to put the decoys in a v pattern into the wind Any advice appreciated Also can anyone recommend a suitable brand of cartridge

Feeding raw will be the best move you make but don't boil your chicken, the bones become softer and dangerous. I feed mine 40% minced meat, either lamb & veg mix or beef and 60% raw meaty bones, chicken wings. I also regularly give the dogs fruit, pigs trotters and knuckle bones. Add a little omega 3 fish oil and your dogs will be in the best physical condition, the dogs also enjoy eating meat and bones rather than biscuit. Juckler, don't bother with the silent whistles, buy a fortune sheepdog whistle. They can be heard over a huge distance and you can get a variety of tones from them. My dogs are taught the down, left, right, and recall all from the same whistle

imo i dont think it matters on the colour of your dog if your out lamping most of the time you get chased is because theyve seen a lamp not because theyve seen a white dog chasing rabbits and if theyve got nite site your fecked anyhow :whistle: i think he means something red will show up more mate(old pic below) Nice looking dog HBG, is he a 1st cross? they bite hard those bunnies :whistle:

Shepherds, along with other breeds do suffer from Hip dysplasia. However these tend to be the show/pet bred dogs found in this country. European imports are not only tested for physical problems but must gain working qualifications before they are bred from. One Schutzhund 3 dog has recently been exported to the USA for £32,000 Idealy the hip score should be low with an even score for each hip (breed average is 19 i think), I have two dogs from imports and the older dogs score is 2:2 ansd his son has just turned two so I shall test them in the near future. Used to have a Border Collie that was an efficient lamp dog, enough speed, stamina and skill for bunnies. He ran a few foxes but never caught one, would of liked to have seen the resulst Currently have a couple of GSD's that I trained for sport but last season started them out with the terrier for interest, they work well with the terrier and soon learnt how to mark and wait for rabbits pushed from cover. I've also worked the younger of the two on the lamp, lots of stamina but needs longer runs as shepherds lack pace for 25 yard sprints, unfortunately they aren't lurchers Couple more -
Just out of curiosity, what would you/have you paid for 100% terrier, one that could find, stay, didn't get banged up and could work consistantly throughout the season? Also what would you/have you paid for a lurcher that can take a variety of quarry, i.e. lamped rabbit/foxes, take hare, work with terriers and take deer? The valued all rounder
