  1. Never been to either the Welsh or Midland, which one do people prefer and why? Cheers Simoman
  2. America looks fun, i'd like to try terriers on Racoon/Groundhog and if I had lurchers, coyote. Was in Oz last year and seeing the foxes during the day wandering in open scrub would have made for interesting runs
  3. Never seen one but we have adders in our local forest. A friend of mine lives in Cotgrave, Notts and regularly catches them in his landing net when fishing
  4. Newark show is this weekend, not much to do with lurchers or terriers, been last 3/4 years due to work.

  11. Gotta agree the electric collar is the best option. But zapping the dog AS it attacks the sheep may cause more problems depending on how strong the dog is (mentally), the dog may think the pain is caused by the sheep and go up a gear. I would use the collar on the recall around livestock(without other dogs present), but as people have said who will be happy having a stock killer trained around there livestock.

  15. Been having a few problems at work lately with rats, they have moved in under the aviaries and I've taken a few with my air rifle and terrier but they have eaten through the wooden floor recently and made a midnight snack of my quail Anyway the final straw came when they ate my Ring Necked Parakeet eggs :realmad: So today I decided to take the dog and try and eradicate the couple left. We flushed one form under the aviary but it disapeared down a broken drain. There is a rubbish pile near the aviaries full of rubble, sleepers and huge builders sacks, the dog started marking and tearing at t
  16. Gotta agree with Chris, voting tory is the ONLY chance of getting the *** changed. The liberals won't will never get a significant number of votes, I've already given my opinion on the BNP,n they may increase in popularity but wont be a seroius contender IMO The only parties with a chance of election are Labour and the tories IMO. I think both parties are CRAP but if we ever want to hunt legally with dogs again we need them in power.
  17. Roybo, I do understand how people feel, I live in Lincolnshire and we have huge numbers of foreign workers in agriculture. Personally I do find this frustrating as by nature I like solitude and space and I think this country is far too populated. I guess my problems witht the BNP come from my own experiences, as a teenager in the 90's working in a factory in central Nottingham I worked with a few lads who were members of the BNP, they went on marches at the weekend, handed out there "Love the white race" stickers and talked about repatriation of all non anglo saxons. These were the sa
  18. Gotta agree with Chilli, Mclaren would be a backwards step I think Martin o' Neil, Arsene Wegner or Mark Hughes (i'm a biased Rovers fan would be a good choice. Ian Wright was good player but what managerial experience has he got
  19. I don't think there is any party worth voting for, none can be trusted to look after the best interests of the man in the street. I'll vote conservative only in the faint hope that some amendments will be made to the hunting act but would never vote BNP. I understand peoples frustration at our ecomomy, industry and the ever increasing population in our small island and they feel the need for a party that they feel will represent them. To be honest I don't know what the parties current policies are but to me they will always conjour up racist imagies JMHO.
  20. The magazine is a MUST for all enthusiasts of terriers, lurchers and hounds. I just hope that Dave can keep the mag going for years to come.
  21. Smart kennels mate, when you clean the kennels does the excess water soak away in the gravel at the front? Mine is positioned on the patio and the problem I have is standing water when I hose them down.
  22. Ideally it should be 60% raw meaty bones and 40% meat. Mine get 60% chicken wings and 40% minced meat, this varies and is usually minced beef, beef and tripe, lamb or lamb and veg. My dogs have been on this for about 5-6 years and it was the best move i made, the dogs look better and they prefer it. Send me a pm if you need a supplier who delivers
