  1. NO OFFENCE TO JD BUT IF I WANTED TO READ HUNTING STORIES I WUD COME ON HERE FOR FREE INSTEAD OF PAYIN £20+ FOR A BOOK. AT THE START OF DIG DEEP AND THROW WELL BACK HE EVEN ADMITS HE IS NO EXPERT,, BUT YET HE WROTE A BOOK ON THE SUBJECT!! HE HAS GREAT PICS BUT IM AFRAID IT ENDS THERE!!! I'm sure he doesn't blow his own trumpet as there are far too many self proclaimed experts in all walks of life. JD's books clearly show he has lots of experience with both terriers and lurchers and his books are top of the tree as far as i'm concerned. The books tell real stories, not fairyta
  2. Could be a flying fox on holiday
  3. Looking at the photos I would have said rats Very strange that they are apearing overnight We turned up at a farm this winter to rat a hawthorn hedge next to some game cover, I have never seen so many rat holes, literally hundreds, yet the dogs showed little interest and we only took 4 rats. Who knows where they went
  4. You been on the meths Cragman Nearly bought the one on Garys Middletons dogs from Gylnn Jones a couple of weeks ago, he said it was selling well, but chose Dave Harcombes book every mans hand instead and enjoyed it . Think the Whiterush moor?? book looks pants but not seen the one on fox control.

  10. I've lived in both towns and villages but now live in a small Lincolnshire town and less than 600 yards are open fields for the next 15 miles to the next town. that said I would love to live in a more remote location (The outback ). I am lucky that I also work in the countryside and my office window overlooks 500 acres . I think the spirit of the countryside is either in your blood or not, I have friends in Nottingham that cannot stand to leave the town centre and be away from the shops, pubs etc.

    pest control

Used to be a dog warden and the council decided to train us as pest controllers to help with cover. Two different contracts, farms and residentuial housing and I got the latter Dealt with fleas, wasps and rodents but always used poisons, never got the chance to use dog on rats. The only problem with small companies is that the council treated residential properties for free.
  12. i dont know of anyone who owns or works this cross, and i cant understand why anyone would.using american pitbull in lurcher breeding,is going backwards, not forwards.we should be striving to breed lurchers with brains, good feet, good coats, and less aggression, dogs like these cant be classed as allround hunters.if its pig hunting you do,then these would do the job, but each to their own.regards collie john. Judging by your name i guess you like/keep collie X's. I suppose you right in you assumption that collie's are more intelligent but a good bull has got brains too. Its not as if they
  13. I'm not a traveller but regularly tuck into roasted hedgehog, shrew kebabs, grass snake stew and fox nipple chips

  15. :11: :11: I've got a couple of his books, ratting, rabbiting and the patterdale. I was looking at his book on Gary Middletons lakaleands at the weekend but instead chose to buy Dave Harcombes book, every mans hand. I just feel all his books lack any real depth and the photos are pretty crap, also I pray that one day he opens a page and thinks "who the f**k drew that" and realise it was him
  16. I do apologise Stabs  Especially If I end up there and can scab a days piggin. Anyway if Disturbed says Pattadale pups fetch a $1000 i'm of to the vets to get my bitchs bits put back together P.S. Whats this about a grasshopper????? Cheers Simoman
  17. I've just bought a second copy (I didn't want to ruin the first) so I can get them framed and hung over the fire. Seans drawings always remind me of what would happen if you blindfolded and drugged Rolf Harris before letting him loose on a canvas with fresh dog excrement Personally I couldn't draw the curtains but then I wouldnt fill books with drawings so bad I cringe and have to shut the page
  18. I thought the sky remark was rather poetic Although I think you were fair game after mentioning the mardi gras Anyway off out now for a martini wih Tarquin, Justin and the boys
