  1. Thanks for the replies, my dogs are fed on their catches now and i eat some and will be eating more, some interesting replies and Chalkie, im surprised that carcass wasn't lathered in a vindaloo paste
  2. I love the romantic notion of the lurcher feeding the family but can i ask, and this is probably better aimed at lurcher owners who kept them a few years ago. Have any of our members actually genuinely used a lurcher to help them through tough times, by putting food on the table and perhaps the game dealers/butchers trays......
  3. I always like to take my time entering a dog to give the best possible chance and i loathe the chop and chage merchants. Five minutes is hell of a long time, especially for an 11 month old pup, and at 11 months thats still what it is, as others have said, many variables including fitness etc and im sure somebody with much more expeience than me will add to the thread......
  4. Dotty is that picture been photoshopped as it clearly shows there are two people out there, admitadly one is a child who are of shrooms diminiutive stature
  5. I will not fail nor faulter I shall succeed. My perception is altered I do believe. Faith is so strong now nothing will bar my way. From conviction no fiction this is my day. I can move, move, move any mountain.

  6. shroom at 99/1 i'll have a tenner on labs andrex reject....boootiful
  7. As with any other breed introduced into the melting pot the quality and temperament of the bull is of paramount importance, there are a lot of crap bull lurchers out there as any bull available is thrown into the mix expecting it to be good because its a "bull cross" I've got an old boy here who is without doubt the easiest dog of any breed or cross i have owned, he was a good working dog, but bombproof around any dogs, livestock and loves kids. Some are far from laid back and require experience, a firm hand and keeping on top of...... P.S. strong stuff, i somehow feel responsible for yo

  9. In the past had dogs either cremated or buried them in the garden, in future a nice relaxing spot where we have enjoyed working or walking together......

  11. i agree! cant turn, no wind, cut easy, headstrong, defo not any brain, strong thats it, beddys do same job as a mix. jmo. but i never seen a good one yet. for all you that own one. a clever dog doesnt get bit back. mines 11 year old still could do what anyones one here could do, hes a sal, grey, beddy, mix. good on long ears, on the bushy tails, on the big stuff, and can fill the freezer up with rabbits. Loadsa mates went to wales buying first x bulls, off so called good lines. Theyre crap. my old dog showed em up every time, alright for one bushy, then cut to pieces getting blood all on my se

  19. Fascinating, did you go alone, how long did you do it for...... I've done a number of trips, that one was with a girl (my girlfriend at the time), and the only time i have had someone else there for the whole trip. We took a somewhat modified, old citreon hatchback, fishing rods, some snares, assorted other shit and got lost for about 7 months or more maybe, so not that long a trip. We didnt have any plan, but ended up blitzing through france and italy, then meandering through Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, montenegro, albania, Kosovo, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Turkey, over to the far side, bac
