  1. Can use a tooth de-scaler & toothbrush if the dog will let you. Good idea to do their teeth ears & nails once a week only takes about 15 mins per dog and keeps on top of things
  2. Buy a coursing pup that’s advertised for strong money and you'll sicken your lad off dogs. It’s almost impossible to get a good one unless you know decent lads with good bitches, most of the ones you’ll buy in will need 3 weeks off after every run, or they’ll never run fast enough to injure themselves in the first place. There’ll be some cracking lurcher x lurcher litters our there that he’ll have a lot more fun with.
  3. Bitch pup I posted a pic of on that other thread she was from a litter of 9, every pup placed in good homes no money changed hands, when her mother was lined no money changed hands for the stud fee. Her mother was from a litter of 9 as well all those pups were gifted free of charge. Red & white dog I posted a pic of was gifted too, as were his 7 litter mates. If you mix in decent circles that’s the way it’s done. People can charge whatever they want for pups I won’t lose any sleep over it but if you charge £250 for a pup you can’t have a pop at someone charging £1000 because it’s all
  4. I know what point you were making and it’s right you can’t guarantee good homes regardless of money, but I was replying to your comment at the end.
  5. Tbh I think “coursing bred” stuff, your Romeo, Jamie, Scouser dogs are like their own breed, had home bred Sal/grey no big names and it was totally different from those types.
  6. I said I’ve never bred a litter of lurchers not that I’ve never bred or homed a litter. If people want to justify it that’s fair enough but bottom line is there’s no NEED to sell a lurcher/terrier, or take money for a stud fee. If a man does then it’s because he’s after a few quid simple as that. Nobody’s got a gun to his head forcing him to cover his outgoings like some would have you believe.
  7. Adding the lurcher x lurcher blood to the coursing dog gives you a tougher & more versatile dog than just a straight Sal x grey. Notice a less scatty temperament as well not as sensitive, easier trained.
  8. I’ve never sold a dog, and I wouldn’t either. I always keep lurcher dogs but I’ve got a bitch here now & if she’s good enough to warrant breeding from the pups will be gifted to mates or placed in pet homes with family members. They definitely wouldn’t be sold to strangers I think a lot more of my dogs than that.
  9. That’s the way to do it use a dog you know. Not got any that I can put up here mate no
  10. 18 month old dog from same stuff as bitch pup on the mother’s side
  11. Make sure and use one that’s done plenty graft & picked up minimal injuries, ignore the big names do some research and find something that’s actually been tested.
  12. Couldn’t agree more theres a lot more to life than working.
  13. If she’s anything like her mother I’ll be happiest man alive see her run every week couldn’t ask for any more in a dog. For my type of work that is they won’t suit everyone.
  14. Fathers saluki x grey on one side & lurcher x lurcher on other. Suppose if I worked out % she would be 3/4 saluki x grey, 1/4 lurcher x lurcher
  15. 4 month old bitch bred that way, her mother is coursing bred but used for all sorts, not an out and out hare coursing dog. Makes a much tougher and more versatile animal IMO
  16. Been done to death this topic, people can charge whatever they want for pet dogs, it doesn’t affect any sort of working bloodline so makes no difference at all. Working dogs bred out of workers should be gifted to decent homes bottom line. Unless the breeder genuinely couldn’t afford to do the litter for himself without making his money back then a small fee fair enough but really working dogs should be gifted.
  17. Expensive but of kit to have taken off you, police will search for them now every time they pull dog lads because as usual the look at me types couldn’t keep their mouths shut.
  18. Mine can’t get enough of tripe they love it, I’ve always been a fan of it for dogs
  19. Been feeding Millies Wolfheart peak performance with a good quality raw meat. Dogs looking well & running well on it, holds his weight perfect as well. It’s pricey but you can’t expect them to give 100% if you’re not doing the same for them.
  20. Certain types of quarry if your dog had to contend with 4 of them in a morning it would be glad of a rest the next day. Or do your dogs just run flat out 7 days a week all season like most on here?
