  1. I saw on the Subaru forum someone mentioned about vehicles with Sump Guards then have air bag problems ... anyone know what problems they mean?
  2. thanks guys, a friend of ours is going to check into a local metal fab's place, hopefully they will be able to help
  3. are you sure your fiancee or someone else hasn't been messing with her?
  4. I said Sump Guard and he said nothing called that is made by Subaru ...
  5. I called the Subaru dealer and he made me feel like a complete idiot, he said there is not such thing? Kye's ripped off the old one in a ditch last night so instead of replacing the old one we'd like the full underbody guard ... anyone know how to describe it better than "a big skidplate for underneath the vehicle?"
  6. when I was involved in breeding sporting types (anything from collies, pits, aussies, staffs etc) found that breeding two "white factored" (which was described to me as white above the knee on any leg) dogs together corresponded with any variety of problems. Each time someone attempted it, there were problems. Eyes were never considered.
  7. Monkey dead from Plague in Colorado http://www.reuters.com/article/topNews/idU...=RSS&rpc=22 from http://rarediseases.about.com/cs/bubonicplague/a/111602.htm Does it still occur in the world? According to the World Health Organization, there are 1,000 to 3,000 cases of bubonic plague worldwide each year. There are no known cases in Australia or Europe. Areas where cases occur are in Russia, the Middle East, China, Southwest and Southeast Asia, Madagascar, southern and eastern Africa, the Andes mountains and Brazil. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
  8. Bubonic has been affecting prairie dog towns in Colorado and surrounding states for years ... it is possible to get it "naturaly" without having to be in a lab or a victim of a germ warefare type of assault
  9. my two best layers are my Turken and my blue Andalusian (who I accidentally poisoned last month ) Turkens look horrible to some people, but they are really cold and heat hardy, mines eggs are very light brown and she lays pretty much every day, sometimes twice a day. Kye wants me to put a scarf on ours the blue Andalusians eggs are white and smaller than the other hens her same size, but she is similar to the Turken and almost lays as many eggs a week as the Turken does. And they are lovely to look at!
  10. Labs any progress or have you just been holed up in the house with the bitch?
  11. Miller1989 It is January 13 today ... what happened in court?
  12. oh no, really? Did they understand he'll be gone tomorrow? I am so sorry! Thank f**k we live out in the middle of nowhere, only 3 neighbors in 2 miles, so he'll have time to settle down, I can deal with a noisy dog for a bit. I can't wait to see him, and thanks to Wood1 for all you've done, and you for being so helpful in getting him over. I owe you both! I can't wait to get started with him! Speaking of living out in the middle of nowhere, we saw a movie last night called "The Strangers" and f**k me but that was scary, especially when it could easily happen here! Time to go shop
  13. I'll take a look, thanks!
  14. I'd like to hatch some eggs this spring, and figured I need to start thinking and planning now ... I'd like ducks, geese, peacocks, guinneas and exotic pheasants. But since it is my first time, is it wise spending (potentially) hundreds on hatching eggs when I've no real clue about how hard it will be? So I figure a test hatch of chickens is in order ... or is it? I know nothing about incubators, I've read bits about rotating ones, water (?) ones ... I just haven't a clue how to start advice please!
  15. thankfully all of ours are non-people-agressive so this might not work as I've no experience, but if it was me with a demonically posessed rooster I'd put on a couple layers of pants and heavy boots armed with a broom and head out there to face him head on. One well aimed kick or whack might solve your problem. Or it will make it worse, but then at least you'll know you did everything you could before you had to wring it's neck. I can't imagine your kid would want the rooster MORE than he'd want his mom safe. But he is a male, and males have different ideas than us sometimes! Good l
  16. Labs have you ever given him a right proper booting across the yard, or has he always gotten the upper hand?
  17. I like the look of those Chinese Salukis
  18. Hunting Lad nice to see the pics of her and hear the report, I'm getting one of her brothers, he was picked up yesterday by a friend and my BIL after a day out with Wood1. We should keep a running thread to report their doings and post periodic pics to keep track of the pups. The screaming must be a genetic thing as the dog pup does it too, my BIL spent the night with 5 pillows stacked on his head ... or maybe some wierd Yorkshire Dog Thief Deterrant
  19. I played with food all yesterday! Until we either get Kyes bandsaw/mincer set up, or buy a cheap one, I'm having to hand cut everything . With the 50+ pounds of heart I chopped 20 pounds into 1" cubes, more is in the freezer waiting to defrost and cut up. 40 pounds of beef fat I cubed up, another 30 pound box waiting to be done, and more is picked up daily from the butcher. 15+ pounds of liver I blended up with all of the blood left over from the hearts, it's in jugs in the fridge and freezer. I figure I'll just add warm water to take the chill off. I cooked up 10 pounds of rice, it
  20. now keep in mind that the dogs are looking and performing well right now, so whatever I'm doing "seems" to be working, but it has been mostly guesswork and listening to Jay (sometimes) that I've learned from, I really knew nothing about feeding flesh until this past year. And I am sure I have some things all wrong, or I'm doing things without really knowing if they are doing any good or not. okay my questions of the day ... 1.) When "just" roading and a few hours lamping (10-20 miles/day roughly) I had been feeding venison morning/night day 1, venison morning & fats/veg night day
