yes gnash i understand ,i was looking at them as someone who would buy them as on ornament not because they based on a particular dog i respect that you and others on here have knowledge on these dogs and what they looked like where i have none.

the yorkshire terrier was originally a dog called the paisley terrier or the clydesdale terrier they went south with people looking for work during the industrial revolution and were used around the mills as ratters and vermin control, they were the larger size, they have had maltese and other small or toy breed introduced into their breed and are now classed as toy rather than terrier class for show purposes the original breed was shown as a scotch terrier (not scottish ) in the early shows during the 19 century

they or at least S B put M R sealyham into their stuff, its debatable if they had any sealyham in them or as a few men in the know say they were a few breeds in them including dachshund plus a little wire coated russell type, the dogs from that area didnt need anything in them as they were doing fine and all the introduction of this new blood did was give them a linty coat but it didnt affect their working ability so i suppose it helped the gene pool, sorry to go off track.
