  1. It might make a huge difference. Those rifles can shoot real bad. Many found that it is caused by the tiny gap between forend and the action lump. The radiused part.
  2. A short recoil action then. Very reliable action and less bits to go wrong. Wise choice sir ?
  3. Is the browning backpassage not a different action than the original a5? Looks smart Phil.
  4. Fmj in the 308. Or your cast loads Gav, no good?
  5. I accidentally push fed a hornet in my 527 once and it got stuck in the chamber so I had to return home. The extractor claw would not ride over the rim. By rights its not designed to. I beveled mine so that in the field it would if it happened again by accident. It is a none issue with rim less designed cases but still a controlled feed design. You could test your rifle to see if it is an issue.
  6. It's fine on rabbits for eating loaded correctly!
  7. I'm currently working on a giant pot of caramel yoghurt. ?
  8. Feed it via the magazine. When you are zeroing it don't try and push feed single rounds. Mauser actions are controlled feed. Especially with rimmed cartridges. Happy for you. I miss my hornets.
  9. Looks like better to read numbers than mine. And the card is easier to get at than mine. I had to drop mine to shots every second. Cheers.
  10. Then there was the time I met a local stalker in a local gunshop one day and then a week later whilst working at the then my boss's country house met the same stalker who sorted the fallow deer on the surrounding estate. Fast forward to visiting a friend in New Luce, D&G one weekend and after exchanging several pints I was given gargled directions to a forest to help myself to the roe. It was whilst navigating in the dark the next morning I turned right instead of left! Thinking I was at the correct forest I set off in the dawn light up the track with clear fell both sides.
  11. How fiddly is it to extract the sd card Deker?
  12. With a proper gun, not one of them topsy-turvy barrelled things I hope?
  13. Hey....they did seal the correct hole did they? ?
  14. Good news! I found my fox. Looks like it went to ground. I walked past the badger earth yesterday. I think they must of kicked it out! My dog Jess was a big help this morning so pleased about that.
  15. You have a slinky. She will haunt you day and night Ben!
  16. On a positive note I think I had 20 pheasants and four woodcock this season. Three geese and one teal. For a loner with no friends it's not to bad.
  17. I've just had a disastrous afternoon. I've been working this pit hole that I realised a dog fox was lying up in. I've been stalking it all week. Seen it once. Heard it snap a twig another time. I was there in the dark this morning waiting for it. Nothing. Then the wind came. So I thought I will go in the pit hole and see what happens. I slowly stalked in. Couple of steps and stop. Look, listen. Couple more steps, I looks across the water and there he is, 15 yards. I gets the percussion 10g on him and boom ?. Off he goes and I try a second barrel. I know he is hit. I fi
  18. Yes sorry, have a good day. Another season gone....
  19. Same for me, noisy nosey bored meddling country hackers! Completely out of touch with nature. Possibly can't even name the common birds and walk past a deer just ten yards from them with out ever seeing it whilst making all sorts of hideous sounds trying to encourage their rampaging dogs back ?
