I don't know.
Think I'm going through a mid life techno crisis.
I've been looking at spotters today.
I sat at the bait from 4am to 6am this morning. I could see if something was there via the scope alone, and there was no moon. It was magical. Owls all around and above me. Pheasants shouting all around. Two dog fox's barking in the distance. One came my way and was barking in a wood not 200yds away but he never arrived. Probably when I check the camera he probably turned after I left!
Any way I got to wondering about spotters.
Feel like I'm being pulled down a rabbi
Same here si mate.
I enjoy the challenge too. If I get a clever fox it keeps me focused.
Besides, I just don't think it would of looked right on a flintlock!
Well guys this has been very interesting and I have learnt a lot.
I have had two units in my hands. One very expensive! Interestingly, the expensive one can still have issues!
Something just is not jelling with me!
I went out last night with my lamp like normal. Nice and simple. Just observed woodcock and hares. Nice. And a hell of a lot cheaper!
I sat at my new baiting area, wnd was perfect. The camera said long-tailed slinky came at 4:30am the night before.
I sat there with little moon light a good 50yds from the baiting area and through my rifle scope see well enou
I use to have a mat black marker pen for open sights. It was made by birchwood casey.
I never bothered serious target shooting when the sun was out.
I say serious. I mean load development.
Keeping in the shade helps.
So my dealer friend let me borrow the Pulsar digest to try it out but asked me to not mount it on a rifle.
I'm very impressed and perplexed. Impressed by its performance and perplexed by the price ?.
The sensor is that good you can spot with it without ir!
Decisions, decisions....
I get that partner. Its a paradox.
How long do these things last? That's another question!
Good old fashioned light works all the time.
But then I wonder about getting those clever ones but then again they might see the ir and I'm back to square one. That leaves thermal being the only real option but it's to expensive ?.
Head lol.

A shotgun cartridge has a base wad though, in the cartridge head lol.
So I called in the shop and he has yukon but they are only 6x.
He had a second hand at xsite 2 5-20 that he gave me to try.
It eats AA batteries quicker than a circus elephant eats peanuts!
Because it run the batteries down so quick it would not zoom!
The controls were simple enough.
The illuminater I had no cells for so could not test.
Something doesn't seem quite right so I will send it back.
Thank you all of you. Appreciate it. Thanks Dave, you are a kind gent. Thanks Ben, that's what puts me off PARD gear!
Scarecrow, I looked at the site mark ones. They seem interesting!
Thanks everyone ?
Thank you. Brilliantly put. Especially the shaking bit ?.
Hmm. Well there are many occasions I wait at dusk for one to pop out of cover. I see it working well then.
I often feel anxious when I switch the guns light on for the shot wondering how many seconds have I got.....
Sometimes I have to sit and wait up the chicken sheds for one to arrive. I often wonder if it will be better for that job.
Others lamp around here and educate them. I do get regular slinky educated fox's and no its not really my fault! Sometimes, but not often.
I am tempted to get with it so to spea
