Often contemplated it myself. I use to put deer pee on my stalking coat, that got me some deer too?
-
I use to beg for the stops to carry a gun on one shoot. Every week one would pop past him! Muppet keeper he was! Yes you are right, there is bound to be a dog following her. I will look to night all being well. I left her in a handy spot!

No no mate, slinky is the ghost. I'm hoping she is having a cool down a hole.

She was in mint condition. She was checking the bases of trees that over the years I have recycled other fox's under! I need to return tomorrow in case a dog is following. There was nothing at the other farm.

Silly moo came waltzing straight to me! Lucky or what! 32 paces.

Thanks for your kind words. I do want to go back and look again. I would of sooner if it weren't for a stomach bug I had upto yesterday. I'm out now with the rifle and between heavy showers and rain shot nine squirrels and two rabbits. The rabbits shot off hand and the bullet has gone where I last saw the sight. 70 good strides. 87 good strides. It's not the rifle and I didn't pull the shot....!

Right! I watched it come light in the area I was. Nothing. All was quiet. Pheasant came off roost and where settled. The sheep were relaxed. My dog however would sniff at places I have for months off and on seen them at night! When convinced no fox was about I moved to where I took the shot and marked in the hedge where it was. The hedge bank rises and is a good back stop. I quickly looked at my zero check I took on the night for reassurance and then jumped the ditch and paced 70 strides again. At the hedge my dogs nose was going again! She went to where I marked the shot and bl

They were a bargain mate. Only used once. Seller said any idiot can work them ? -
You watch them night vision evening parties!! Especially when they turn the lights off and pass the bowl of car keys around !!!!
-
I'm all excited to see how good they are. Got them for a bargain. Can't see where the batteries go though ?.

If it's the same unit as the CF versions just replace the spring under the adjuster for a lighter range. Don't just shorten it. It needs to be lighter not shorter. If you can. Measure the wire thickness and free length then visit ebay and select lighter versions of spring.

You've seen it too then....

Yes and it's more than embarrassing, it a little worrying! I'm going to start blaming the rifle! Like I usually do.....

Went ratting last night, got one! I noticed two fox's across the field so drove back to get the rifle (5mins). Long story short I found one of them, possibly old slinky my ghost fox and got a nice simple 70yd side shot. Nothing! I didn't pull the shot or anything like that. I thought I saw it gape its mouth! Sometimes I don't here it connect but after spending an hour looking I may of missed. I took a shot at a target, same distance, spot on! Maybe I was a little to forward on it?? A Vixen kicked off screaming in the distance after, maybe my fox giving me a salute.....again

I've had fox's that close mate that when they clock you I can see their expression drop as in " oh poop"!

I use to get a chap a hare occasionally but he preferred the mountain hare over the brown. I was stalking in Scotland often then so would bring him one occasionally. Not heard any fox's around me yet still!
-
And that is why I shoot them twice if I can. I mean I have seen many a fox go down and then get back up. They seem to have a short lived shock if not fatally wounded. I often give them another for good luck.

Hmmm. Shallow wounds on mice can turn out nasty if they charge! Take them back, in fact while your at get that variation in ?
