  1. You get first prize. I had a couple of 17 in my pocket that day. A few escaped my sieving!
  2. Yeah, was on a beaters day once, it was raw and had snowed. One lad had a Beretta auto thingy and before lunch it had stopped working. I had a look and I could hardly move the action. Another lad had some wd40 so we stripped it down and used the WD to dissolve the crud. Worked perfect after that. I told them to stop oiling it, it don't need it. No I am not recommending wd40!
  3. Yeah. Folks think oiling will help. It does at first but then combustion waste products mix with the oil to make a sticky goo. Then they run a few HV rounds through it and hey presto it works fine thus the myth is born.
  4. By who gav. My 1022 was fine on them and so is this marlin. Got to keep the action dry mate, same with auto shotguns.
  5. Hmm, mine likes falcons, same pellet I believe. I had a zero shift yesterday too. Not sure why but it has just started to diesel a little so it will be having a strip down soon.
  6. Shoots wasps similar to yours too ?
  7. Cheers, yes I was surprised how good they shoot at distance too. They whollop squirrel really well too.
  8. I purchased 100 RDS of these yesterday. I was not to excited from past experiences with Remington ammo! Amazingly they want to group but at least one in ten is a popper and jams the action like no other bad ammo has! About one in twenty is super sonic. All the others want to group. Flicking pebbles at 100 yards was quite easy but alas same old story with Remington, no consistency so they are out! Again. SD.
  9. Can't really help but consider having it restocked. It won't be cheap!
  10. Your right about wanting to keep a shotgun that fits so well. That is paramount to good shooting ?.
  11. It may only need a change in ammo as Si points out. Most European ammo I think generally has slightly bigger shells and rims.
  12. Got it ? Hmmm. It's not right absolutely. It may have large chambers and or the cartridges maybe on the small size. Can you measure across the mouth of the chambers?
  13. You don't need a game license as there is none and it's not illegal to use a air rifle on hare. You can't sell them at certain times of the year. What is that hw80 pumping out mate?
  14. Oh. So it ejects fired hulls? It shouldn't be ejecting unfired cartridges anyway! Some singles eject all the time but I never heard of Lambers doing it!
  15. Guys we don't celebrate but hey you all have a good day. Thanks for another year of chuckles ?
  16. Are the chambers clean? Have they got sticky preserving gunk in them? Just a thought.
  17. I been wondering about spreading the cat food on me! What do you think?
  18. Noticed a wood of mine bursting with squirrels yesterday so went back today with my 99. Took a photo of eight but went on to get 23. I used a mixed bunch of pellets I got recently from a shop. Separated the shot, 17&22 pellets weeks ago but as I knew ranges were going to be low I just grabbed a hand full. On the way back I had a major plink, think I shot 200 pellets today and I was knackered, that's a lot of cocking! Any way it was good to be out with an air rifle again. Next to no pellets passed through and bisley pest control give no expansion at sub 12.
  19. It says more about me really. I could not be doing with getting down and back up again. I think I would swing around on my belly if there was a wind! Earlier today I tripped and went flying. I got up pretty quick but only because I didn't want someone to see me ?. Glad you got your fox. Incidentally I baited mine with cat food the night before, think it did the trick if only on the second night?
  20. Tell me Dave...is it a bit of a scene you getting up again ??
  21. Honest lads, you should get some of these socks, they are brill ? Thirty yards, back of the chicken shed. One eye bad and infected.
  22. Weren't you worried about getting caught with the keeper only 20' away? Trouble with keepers they are usually flying around to quickly. You'll get them. Couldn't you use a shotgun for the close ones? They tend to ignore calls this time of year. Mine did last night. Just looking for a juicy Vixen at the moment they are.
  23. Ole Busty Brown Bess likes a bit of rough so I obliged by stuffing 20 22 long rifle bullets down her gob! She liked it getting me a decent buck rabbit. If look in the locks pan you can see a recovered bullet I found lying on the ground by the rabbit. The bucks seem to be showing now, they will be breeding soon if not already. We got on another but this time I had tipped 2oz of 17 pellets in her. Well maybe it was more going off how the gun jumped out of my gloved hands! Oops. SD.
