  1. Fair call, i was just being lazy and couldnt be bothered to describe what i was talking about so stuck the link up. Looking back it probabley wasnt the best thing to do on a selling post so apologies. Yours look really good, i never disputed they were top quality i was just discussing an alternative design that i use.
  2. I have two, possibley three, knifes that need sheaths. I was planning to do them myself but some of the ones on here are so nice I thought i'd find out how much it would be to have someone expert do them. I'd be happy to post the knifes to whoever so they could mould round them to suit? Im looking for a basic plain design with belt and/or neck carry please. Let me know if anyones interested and how much they'd charge. Thank you
  3. Tyla you come across realy arrogant,Why post a cheep pouch on someones post thats trying to show his craft's?After all this is art and crafts ,not ebay? I dont know if you have something against the gaffer, But you seem to be on your high horse bragging how good you are wanting people to look at your old post. :hmm: Maybe its only me tyla that see's you in this light I told you I use my pocket for my catty ammo so I am not patting anyone on back,I think this leather work is worth a look at ,show us one you can make yourself tyla before pulling his down..I could be wrong about you tyla as o
  4. I would like a go at that, wonder if anyone out there offers hunting trips with the dogs?
  5. Really? Its as bitchy as a mothers meeting in here. I use a catapult plenty, if you dont believe me I couldnt care less but you could easily check by going through my old posts to see cattys i've made and kills i've taken. I dont feel the need to post every little thing i do unlike some. Use whatever you like to carry your shot its neither here nor there to me. I promise not to interfer with your mutual back slapping any further
  6. 1st sighn of a bit of moisture theyll rot in your pocket ,look like 1s you get off carboot 10 bob each, anyway there nothing to do with crafts and diy so i dont know why its been put on ? Calm down mate and pop your dummy back in. I never said they were crafts or DIY, what i did say is that they work. I use a catty alot and have tried plenty of ways of keeping the shot so it doesnt get lost and you can get it easily and fast. This works for me and has done for ages, yeah they are cheap but they do the job. Before i found these i used the drawstring pouches designed for dog treats, they are
  7. I dont think you would go far wrong with another lab, they are such versatile dogs. Good luck whatever you decide
  8. Is this for real? The lads put up a pic of his pup, not claimed its a world beater, just showing off a pup he is obviously proud of. There are hundreds of threads the same just with different crosses and no one jumps all over them? If you dont like the lads that bred the dog then speak to them but let the lad be proud of his pup if he wants to. At the end of the day hes the one feeding it.
  9. Good introduction, enjoy the forum
  10. Looks like its all legal, a beach seine is operated by hand so no need to leave contact details. Just mesh sizes to look into now
  11. I'd keep the jackplug, just buy a female end to fit to the new battery. You can also buy a new 7ah battery which will fit straight into the battery housing
  12. Cheers lads, is it viable to seine net for larger fish, mackeral, mullet, bass etc? Also, what is the situation with the law, there must be mesh size regulations or something?
  13. Really? Please explain how this will help cover the vets bill or achieve anything useful at all? It would make me think you were shy of talking to the man.
  14. I hunt with Blackstaff off here who used to run a staff bitch as you would a lurcher, seen her ferret, bush, work with the gun and lamp. Nothing like as fast as a lurcher but did everything with all her heart and got the catches to prove it. Was good to see.
  15. What can anyone tell me about beach seine netting? Thanks
  16. You wanted opinions and thats what you got, you dont have to like them. Try making the most of the dog you've got rather than trading them like a kid whos got bored of his toys. And you wont get much constructive advice if you tell people to "f**k off" when you dont like what they say.
  17. These are pretty good. I used drawstring pouchs before but these are less fiddly http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-REAL-LEATHER-SNAP-TOP-COIN-CHANGE-PURSE-WALLET-4-COLOURS-/321040312619?pt=UK_Purses_Wallets&var=&hash=item4abf7e692b
  18. Yes, it can be done but how you do it depends how good you want it to be when finished. Nearly anything that can be done with power tools can also be done with hand tools, its just alot slower! Old steel is the best IMO, im a chippy and dont think the modern chisels are a patch on a good quality old one.
  19. Thanks again. I find the key tangs alot faster and easier to make than the full tangs, the hardest part was cutting the slot into the brass. I made up the full tang blade herdwick bought from you at the same time as these and shaping the handle took a long time and ate up sanding belts.
  20. Used a gator a few times, good for ground where runs are few and far between
  21. Cheers lads, just need to get the sheaths done now
  22. Well done mate. Its very satifying when you can bring one back from the brink. It makes you wonder how many get PTS just because some vets dont have the experience and are too proud to admit it. Once he is back to himself I would be tempted to take him in to show her and see if she recognizes him. Either way time for a new vet i think?
