  1. My friend is the gardener on a massive estate and has managed to land the shooting permission in the grounds and on some of the farmland. We went there for a drive round to check it out and also to test my new inflatable canoe on the lake. its an incredible place, deer park with Sika, Red, Fallow and Pere Davids, lake with wide range of wild fowl and stacks of canadas. We took the canoe out in the morning and went after some squirrels in the afternoon, overall a great day!
  2. Tyla came back with this, its well chewed but i hope someone will know what it was. Thanks
  3. Sounds like you had a good day, i've been out a fair bit locally a few greys and bunnies but nothing dramatic. i personally leave stoats and weasels alone unless specifically asked to shoot them, usually round release pens, its so nice to see them. i might be over Rye way friday/saturday so let me know if you fancy meeting up.
  4. A friend of my Grandad used to make his own. i remember years ago watching him doing it, he melted the lead into what i remember as being a thimble and then loaded it back into the cartridge. i dont know what gun or game he used them for and dont know how he coped with the choke on the gun as i was only a kid at the time.
  5. And to you! i never did get down your way over Christmas, festivities got in the way, but will do soon. Good hunting!
  6. Sorry to hear that, he looks a lovely animal. i lost one of mine years ago for over a month and had given up on him til my little sister went round to her friends house and found out her mates Dad had got him in a hutch out the back. i was made up til the bloke started saying he wasnt mine, could've got messy but little sis just marched round there and brought him home. Nothing was ever said and the ferret settled back in just in time for the new season Have you tried asking around? Mine had gone a good couple of miles before he got found. Good luck anyway!
  7. Good pics mate i was out today too but drew a total blank still, great to be out of the house after christmas.
  8. Nice one mate keep it going! i was out all morning and drew a blank. No idea why, seen lots of them there, holes look active, plenty of fresh sign - just no rabbits! Still, dosent happen often and had a nice walk anyway so im not complaining.
  9. Swaps? Send me that lot and i'll send you some nice thermals!
  10. hi its very clickey if you start to win they will not talk to you ect Are they mostly people who work their dogs and do it as a bit of laugh or are they just into the lure coursing scene? i just fancy meeting up with a few like minded people and seeing a few dogs run but i cant be arsed with cliques and the "winners and losers" attitude. Anyone one know when they meet? try there web site Just had a look, nothing til March.

  16. i was given a ferret that was several generations down the line from an introduction of polecat blood. The family i got him from have been keepers and rabbit catchers for generations and used to keep several courts of ferrets, up to 40 at times. Every few years they would travel to Wales and a livetrap several polecats to add to their blood lines. The ferret i had was very trame but, as i said, he was several generations away from wild. One thing i do know is that they culled vigorously anything that had the wrong temperament or didnt work well straight away was a goner Unfortunatel
  17. This one is the brother to Kreet's jrt x whippet pup. Hes coming on a treat, a real credit to you dogger! The pics were taken at a lure coursing day run by Ghostlyease from this site, theres also one of our 8 mth old lurcher Tyla at full speed!

  19. Unless your desperate to get a "Harris" i would have a look on American ebay, i got mine from there. i cant remember the make but its every bit as good as my mates Harris except cost less than £30 delivered as opposed to £60 plus. To get the bottla clampyou would probably be best looking in the UK though. Good luck I suspect you mean the Rockmount Bipod. If you compare it side by side with the Harris it isn't quite as good, BUT, there is hardly anything in it and it could well be worth considering! Hmmm could be that one, imo there is virtually nothing in it, my bu

  21. We went on saturday and took my 8 mth lurcher bitch and our jrt x whippet puppy. They both had a go on the lure and it was a nice day out despite the snow! The dogs were some of the fittest staffs i have ever seen, real credits to their owners. We had the only running dogs there which was a shame but maybe there will be a few more next time. Thanks to Keeley for inviting us, we will definately go again.

    gamo

They are good, cheap springers. i just bought one a few weeks ago and it does the biz.
  23. They are a quality gun but can be pellet fussy due to the indexing system. Once you get the knack and know which pellets work and which dont you'll love it
