  1. pictures of Parker 5 mths and Tyla 11 mths
  2. My girlfriend has a whippet x jrt, 5 mths old and 18.5" tts Reckon he'll be bigger than we expected but hopefully a very handy dog come next season. She says she'll post some pics of him on this thread later on
  3. Thats true but i am 6'2" and need to get in it to clean it so the height is important to me! i think shelves and ladders are a good idea though, maybe a bit of tree trunk and some old t shirts as hammocks too? Perhaps Tyla's kong dog toy too as she just ignores it! I`m not trying to p**s on your bonfire because that`s a spot on job you`ve done, but if the ferrets can`t benefit from the height of the court then they just as well be in a large hutch. Shelves don`t have to be wide and ladders can be removable and they love drainpipes. Go on try it, if it doesn`t suit then you can always take

  5. Mines a bit basic compared to some but its better than just a hutch and its all built of scrap timber so it was free!
  6. Thats a nice offer, good man whin
  7. Sounds like a good nights sport Nice to see another southerner out doing a bit!
  8. Thanks, i reckon it cant be good for them being cramped all the time. it must be like asking a couch potato to do a hard days graft, asking a ferret that barely moves all day to chase rabbits for hours!
  9. lol - it came that colour, once summer is here it will get a less conspicuous paint job!
  10. Just finished building this for the ferrets. They belong to my buddy but due to a change in his circumstances they are staying with me for the foreseeable future. They looked bored in their hutches so i knocked this up, all made from scrap so didnt cost me a penny it needs a few finishing touches but it will do. What other things are good to put in to keep them entertained?
  11. Nice one mate, i have the same problems with "helpful" horses on some of my permission. They like to join in with lamping too
  12. Had an invite yesterday from zebedee for a spot of ferreting and a wander with the air rifles. its a lovely bit of ground and absolutely riddled with bunnies, so much so that it was a case of trying to find buries small enough to ferret! Had all four of the girls but not enough purse nets (given upon the long net til someone shows me how not to get it so tangled ) The rabbits were reluctant to bolt but the girls worked well and eventually got them moving although im fairly sure there were still rabbits bottled up in both buries. The mk3 was not behaving and even after a change of batter
  13. Never have, bet it would be fiddly though. i have made it from beef, buffalo and impala and the key is to have it cut very thin. You can use all sorts of seasonings although i just used salt and pepper. Good luck with it
  14. Thats all well and good, i would love to use smaller stores but as i work 6.30am - 4.30pm and spend the weekends with the dogs and OH the only thing open is the evil faceless supermarket!
  15. Don't walk to her! As soon as she makes her catch call her then start walking away from her. Even if you have to keep walking around the same field wait for her to come to you - she will eventually. Whatever you do don't walk towards her - at the moment she's training you sneaky cow, i hadnt thought of it like that.
  16. Quality picture, i will be trying that! Beutiful animal too.
  17. i had a bit of a break through today. She caught a mixy one in the daylight and i used it as a dummy, she ran off with it but eventually brought it almost to me. i repeated it until she was getting bored but i hope its progress? Shes awkward, refuses to go after a dummy and gets all neurotic if forced so this was a good opportunity.
  18. My 11 mth bitch is from a pet home and rescue parents and is coming on very well. Just started killing on the lamp, works fine with ferrets and has heaps of prey drive. She is my first so maybe i was just lucky.
  19. i would be interested if it was in .20 cal?
  20. in the end i caught a 2 inch roach and .... a mink!
  21. Do they offer camping like at the midland, that would be better than doing all the driving the same day?
