    Chicken and leek pie, hasselbacks, tender stem and a cream/white wine sauce ( gravy ) I’d make someone a lovely little housewife

    Bit of chicken pasta for dinner today, think I’m going to make a chicken and leek pie for tea in a bit, it’s a shame I’m going back to work tomorrow, I like just pottering around, while Mrs Stav is at work

    I’d imagine that the bitterness of the sloes goes really well with sweet cider I’m now thinking that would make an amazing syrup to go with a cake

    When I was gaffer at a tanker company I had a load of polish working for me, the young lads were just like us but the lads in their 50’s were mad, me and my mate used to go out drinking with them, one night we had been in my local and went back to the rented house that 6 of them lived in, to start on the polish lager and vodka, when we got there I went for a piss and there was fish swimming in the bath ( carp and roach ) that they had robbed from a local pond, we went to sit outside and there was a deer hung up on the decking that one of them had seen on the road so ran it over, the whole gard

    Nothing better than free food, I’ve just dropped an old poacher who had a stroke a couple of years ago a full roe carcass off, I had to run away from him because he kept trying to give me 20 quid

    Curry book out tonight, went for a North Indian Murgh Kari, it was nice but maybe a little hot for me, I’m sure I’ll find out tomorrow

    And it looks shit, but it’s better than post and rail for the 2 million quid worth of horses that will be in there

    About finished, got another day here once the entrance gate turns up, so that will be 10 days to complete the job, I’d love to know how much my mate quoted for this, I bet he’s made a small fortune out of it, I bet it’s covered his weeks skiing next week along with my 2k for the 10 days, off to a clean job tomorrow, out of the mud

    Well, we’re getting there, fencing is almost complete, got some field gates to go on and a few other bits, going to have to come back to do the entrance gate because it hasn’t been made yet, there’s definitely a drainage issue in one of the fields, they maybe should of got us to sort this before the fencing
