  6. Few hours bagging wheat up today, hope there’s enough here to see me though the season
  7. I don’t know why but it doesn’t sit well with me when I feel like I’m just taking peoples money and they are not getting what they are paying for, I fixed the fire surround in the caravan, repaired a drinker and cut the mats for the stables for her, I thought “ your paying me anyway so I might as well do a few bits “
  8. I kept a bit of the chicken and leek stew from earlier in the week because Mrs Stav is away with work, so I chucked in some spicy chorizo and it was lovely, I wish I’d gotten some crusty bread to go with it
  9. Mental this lot, I said to them, you need to burn all the timber I’ve taken out because there’s a lot more to come out, so they haven’t done it and said to me today would I do it, so they have paid me £20 an hour to have a fire and load plasterboard in the skip some people have more money than sense
  10. Looks like a spaghetti bolognaise but it’s a lot of mushrooms, a lot of thyme and red wine vinegar
  11. Not far off ready to put the 360 through it now, waiting on the elec board to move everything, we even put the ducting in for them to try and gee them up a bit, and hopefully when the Batman comes tomorrow he’s happy for us to start pulling the roof off
  12. Mrs Stav is out for tea with her mate so I done myself a chuck it in curry, chicken, onion, tomatoes, peppers, garlic, ginger, cream and a few dry spices, turned out ok
  13. Chicken, leek, spuds, carrots, turnip, stock, thyme, tomato purée, salt, pepper and topped off with a dumpling, absolutely delicious
  14. Pointless job finished then off to feed the birds and clean the gutters out for the old girl
  15. Another toad in the hole tonight, farmers keep giving me spuds and eggs at the minute so it’s a good way to use the up, I’m getting a bit sick of egg buttys at work every day though
  16. I haven’t tried it yet but grotbags said it was lovely but next time get her full fat custard not that light sh*te
  17. Well, I’m completely baffled by this, no idea what he thinks he’s achieving, drainage should be about getting it off your land not bringing it further onto it so you can pump it off
  18. This makes no sense whatsoever, he’s the highest point at the back so it would just send the water down the field, it wouldn’t even go into next doors, but hey, I’m just here to dig holes
  19. Anyone tell me the point of this? Mate said can you give me a hand with a drainage job, 15’ of pipe into a sump because the garden floods in the winter and he wants to be able to pump it out, why would you not just put a 6” perforated pipe along the back of your boundary sending the water to the left and onto the farmer’s field out the back this is what happens when you work for a retired civil engineer
  20. It’s only brunch, OAP’s tend to get up early
  21. Another chicken dinner today, now off on my meals on wheels round, dinner for my mam, apple crumble for the mother-in-law and bags of wheat for my flying chickens
  22. Picked some nice cookers earlier, stewed them in dark brown sugar and lemon juice, they don’t look too clever but they smell amazing, I’m sure the mother-in-law will give me her opinion when I drop her one off
